They are not building any new reliable coal fired power generation.
And worse.
The crap that is supposed to replace it doesn't work.
Time for a major energy shake up.
Huge increase in the in forecast of US-based spending on power plants fuelled by coal and gas - which are expected to reach $50bn this year.
Meanwhile we have fools and nincompoops such as Blackout Bowen claiming coal and gas are not competitive - and with Net Zero, the investment is Australia is zero.
And some wonder why Australia is going backwards under Labor.
@QueenMother1976@DalGal1957 My father did not have a smart phone. I made all his appointments for him. Not everyone has their own personal advocate.
Forcing them to enter the electronic maze is wrong and needs to change.
“I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone.
Every day, older patients call us confused.
They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link.
Some of them do not know what a portal is.
Some do not have a smartphone.
Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing.
Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results.
He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.”
He sounded ashamed.
That broke my heart.
He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being.
Technology can be helpful. I understand that.
But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far.
Not everything needs to be an app.
Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen.
Sometimes people need a voice.
A patient person.
A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.”
Progress should not leave seniors behind.
Because one day, the world will move faster than us too.
And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down.

@salltweets The incompetence of our politicians is only surpassed by their reliance on a more incompetent bureaucracy that crafts the documents, they sign off on.
It's all the more reason to slash the Canberra bloat.
Australia needs a reset in more than one area.
“You can’t argue that this law is working. You’ve got all these women being dragged through courts and tribunals… The Sex Discrimination Act is excluding women. It’s excluding the group it was created to protect. It’s not working. Fix it” - me to The Aus.

@salltweets@JuliaGillard What a disingenuous response by @JuliaGillard. First of all belittling the audience by suggesting Australian affairs are a parochial side-show; then using the ‘if-we-knew-then-what-we-know-now’ side-step, topped off with the ‘no one raised it’ side-step. Gillard is well greased!
Julia Gillard is a liar and I’ve seen that labelled against her before and she had the temerity to call Tony Abbot a misogynist when he lived in a house full of women, ie 3 daughters and his wife.
That comment had no regard for his wife or his daughters who had to bear that public parliamentary slur on his reputation.
But it was an intelligent contemporary gotcha moment, a political slur by an Intelligent lawyer and it made the impact she knew it would make through the news media.
So Julia is a very intelligent lawyer, world travelled and could hold her own against any of the world leaders back in 2013 and knew exactly what she was doing and there were submissions warning her but she obviously didn’t care and submitted it anyway.
I had no idea about it at the time in 2013 but what I knew some time after was that she was the most prolific legislator in the history of Australian politics based on the rate of bills passed over her time in office.
At the time she was a worthy lieutenant on a UN mission AGENDA 2030
In fact it’s so obvious that even Blind Freddy could see where these changes would lead changing the sex discrimination act to represent gender rather than sex but it never made sense because it’s called the SEX DISCRIMINATION ACT.
And look at the dangerous absurdity now because it’s putting women in danger when a male identifying as a woman and dressing as a woman enters women’s private sex based spaces.
In fact the statistics in the US show clearly that 60-90% of males dressing and identifying as women are Autogynephilic and do this as a form of sexual arousal. That’s a clear and present danger to women, FULL STOP.

@salltweets@JuliaGillard No foresight, no consideration. Just another legislative bill pushed through by Labor.
I don't see her calling our her Labor party for voting AGAINST reinstating the definitions of Man & Woman.
No accountability, no respect, and no apology to the Australian women.
It is the job of legislators to consider all intended & unintended consequences of amendments. @JuliaGillard’s answer here is an admission that her government did not do their job.
Therefore, she remains Australia’s first woman prime minister who destroyed women’s rights, even if she didn’t mean to.
It is, however, true that there is no evidence that legislators *did* intend for women’s sex based rights to be destroyed by adding gender identity to the sex discrimination act. That has happened because of ideological activists in the sex discrimination commission, the custodians of the act, who have interpreted the law to the point of removing women from it (but don’t worry, men who claim to be women are covered by law for potential pregnancy…). Also, the judiciary has arguably been legislating from the bench.
This is my opinion: I don’t care how or why they did it at this point. I care about fixing it. The fact that *this week* the @AlboMP government has dismissed the issue, blocking both @SenatorCash & @PaulineHansonOz’s bills, will only serve to make him look even more foolish than Julia because he can’t hide behind not knowing the unintended consequences.
