JAMB WARNS FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AGAINST EXTORTION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) @JAMBHQ
has issued a stern warning to financial institutions, including banks & e-PIN vending agents, cautioning against the extortion of candidates as the 2024 UTME application sales kick off.

In a virtual meeting led by the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, financial institutions were reminded that overpricing application forms could lead to the withdrawal of accreditation. Prof. Oloyede emphasized the need for meticulous monitoring of agents to maintain the institutions' integrity.

JAMB BEGINS SALES OF 2024 UTME APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the sale of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) application documents for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. The registration period, ending on

*February 5, 2024*

emphasizes immediate profile creation and registration at approved CBT centers.

Candidates aspiring for Nigerian tertiary institutions are urged to obtain their e-PINs at designated financial institutions, listed on the Board’s website.

The e-PIN, priced at N7,700 with mock-UTME and N6,200 without mock-UTME, reflects the Board's commitment to facilitating a seamless registration process.

In response to candidate feedback, JAMB has restructured procedures to allow modifications to already-created profiles. Candidates desiring changes, particularly in names, must ensure such modifications are made on the NIMC database. While this flexibility has been introduced, it comes with a fee to discourage misuse.

Candidates are advised to meticulously verify their details on the NIN slip to prevent inconsistencies. JAMB underscores the importance of registering within the provided window, as there will be no extension to the UTME registration period for 2024.

JAMB Registrar, Honored By SERVICOM

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Best Supportive CEO Award.

The accolade was presented by SERVICOM's National Coordinator, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, at the organization's annual performance recognition and award ceremony on December 19, 2023.

The Board's SERVICOM Unit also secured recognition as the 2023 Best SERVICOM Unit in Team C, while Mrs. Ngozi Egbuna, the Board’s Nodal Officer, was honored as the Best Performing Nodal Officer for 2023 in Team C.

JAMB Certifies 747 Centres for Smooth 2024 UTME Registration

In preparation for the commencement of the 2024 UTME registration on January 15, 2024, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) convened a meeting with CBT administrators to discuss modalities for a seamless exercise. Out of the initially shortlisted 907 CBT centres for accreditation, only 747 successfully passed integrity tests and received certification for the upcoming UTME.

Mr. Damilola Bamiro, the ICT consultant to the Board, extended congratulations to the accredited centres, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards.

Mr. Bamiro also announced the Board's adoption of the HIK vision CCTV system, which includes a minimum of 16 channels to cover essential areas of the facilities. Centres are urged to swiftly migrate to this system, especially as 2024 marks the official take-off year.

He highlighted that centres who fail to record their examination sessions during the UTME would not be compensated for those sessions.
