I just want a Batman similar to the comics. Not this real life take on the character like Nolan.
Same with Joker. I want a comic book, purple suited clown again. Not Ledger copies.
@ToM54643421923@DylanCarlsonKO@TheBatmanSagaNW@etnow Batman just has far more impressive intellectual showings, that and he’s considered the second smartest man in the Dc universe.
Pete’s good, but his intellectual prowess has been stagnated thanks to writers refusing to let him truly develop and grow.
@QuestionStan23 The main thing that makes this pill go down easier is the fact that most of these characters already have projects or appearances, so in a way it’s kinda been built up to.
Still, I think it’s a bit much for the first team up movie. But who knows, maybe its an X-men 97 situation.
@staleking@REDACTEDSpider Something I hope we can both agree on is that BvS (not the film) is far more contrived. Batman and Superman shouldn’t fight like that. Heck Stark could’ve used a stronger armor & killed cap, but he would never.
The issue is not power, it’s the fact they’re made to fight at all…
@staleking@REDACTEDSpider Not necessarily. Both Batman and Iron-man are more than capable of handling their own against their opponent, irrespective of whether or not they’re holding back.
The issue is imo, fights like BvS and Iron-man vs Cap are far more contrived.
This feels more natural.
@AtlantisCraz@MGSolidusSnake@m1tchrll@VALC_6 Adam smasher is a small fish in the larger picture of the Dc universe, he’s not all that nor would it require any sort of “plot armor” to beat him.
@VALC_6 Bro deals with Batman, Superman on occasion, and various other Rogues of Gotham. A bunch of Doped out cyber fiends are NOT gonna worry him.
He’d have a gang of Night City’s worst within 24 hours.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery Bad reception negatively impacts Dc. Fandom wars negatively impact Dc. Bad adaptation decisions negatively affect stories. As I explained earlier, there’s more of a reason.
I won’t repeat myself. Just go back and read.
Have a good life dude.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery Make no mistake, comic fans largely killed the Dceu as Snyder has spoken about. Comic fans, as Tom holland has said, are the whole reason we’re getting a more faithful Spiderman right now.
You’re objectively wrong if you think comic fans can’t sway a movies performance.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery That was literally one of the most complained about issues in BvS and Man of steel. Pattinsons hasn’t, funny enough the most faithful adaptation of Batman just so happens to be a top 2 CBM of the last decade.
Interesting what happens when creatives don’t piss off fans…
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery The difference is that a Lobo movie didn’t get created and headlined by an A list actor. The green lantern movie did, had it been received well he’d have been the face of the Dceu.
Hal is objectively a popular character. Almost any member of the GA would recognize him.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery It’s true.
Being open about a poor decision doesn’t make me like it more. And yeah, I don’t want a character I like to be poorly adapted, they could just use a different character at that point, not the most influential cosmic Dc character.
That itself hurts the story.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery The casual GA didn’t show for supergirl. Some of the most prominent complaints, like the visuals, almost always stem from the fact that the comic did [insert thing] better.
We saw the power of the fans in the Dceu too. Acting like their reception is a non-factor is crazy.
@chxvalry@cowboyssamurai@xopokery And he’s popular in this space too? The boys just did a parody of Hal. He was so popular they were considering launching the Dceu with his movie if it did good.
GL is one of the most recognizable Dc characters.
Yeah, fans who watched the movie. Who are largely comic fans…
