@JonathanDough0@dan_themandan@dabearsblog Chicago is a dying city all around. Negative net migration, skyrocketing crime, massive tax burden with no results, failing education system, crumbling infrastructure, increase ingrocery/pharmacy deserts, and businesses leaving for business friendly states. Its the Detroit model.
@dabearsblog In this case they are freaking out because Illinois has 1 of the highest tax burdens in America and they are losing a huge cash cow to a red state that is business friendly.
@TheUman23 Same could be said of Arlington, TX until Jerry Jones built Jerry World and the complex around it.
Teams dont wanna assume blue city/state burdens especially when players know they will get taxed at an insane rate toplay in those cities.
@Newsweek Teams and smart players dont want to assume the burden of blue city/states. There are atleast 10 teams that dont play in the city they are named after. This will be the 3rd in a different state. Its simple ecomonics.
@obvious_shirts I think thats the point. Teams and smart players dont wanna be subject to blue city/state tax burdens. Saw that Miles Garrett lost 55 million by moving away from red Ohio to blue California which is insane.
@ChiBearsMuse Teams dont like blue city/state tax burdens and the smart players dont either. Look at Miles Garrett. Someone should have told him he was gonna lose 55 million dollars going to LA just because of taxes.
@wischlist Chicago fails at even the basics like teaching kids to read. In 2025 60% of hs student couldn't read. Where I'm from we call those people retards. In Chicago they are the majority. Lol
@wischlist Net negative migration, rise in grocery and prescription deserts, failing infrastructure, Bears leaving, astronomical crime, failing education system all while having on average the 5th highest tax burden in the country.
If that's not city dying I don't know what is.
@bearshubIG Worked for the cowboys when they decided to build in Arlington. Open land away from the city allows all kinds of options for development. The sports complex in Arlington is amazing.
