Let us look at Gun Violence and see if we can find a simple solution for it.
Let us look at the term: Gun – Violence.
We have the two words, Gun(s) and Violence.
Let’s begin by separating the two words from one another.
Let’s remove the word Gun from Violence.
We are left with the word Violence.
Even without Gun(s), Violence remains.
So, getting rid of Gun(s) does not get rid of Violence.
Now, let’s remove the word Violence from Gun.
We are left with the word Gun, and so what?
We can have Gun(s) but there is no Violence.
The problem should be clear and simple to those who think clearly and simply.
Guns are not Violence. Violence is violence.
Guns are only one of many tools used by violent individuals to inflict pain and suffering upon another.
Those without a gun will stab with a knife, strike with a hammer, ram with a car, or come up with other ways to express their violence.
Getting rid of the Gun does not get rid of the Violence.
Addressing Violence is the only way to get rid of Violence.
Our society promotes an evil cocktail of anger and resentment, coupled with an almost complete lack of respect for human life.
Our society creates the hate that drives the violence, which is tolerated because we care so little for how sacred human life is.
As long as we promote hate, anger and violence through every aspect of entertainment, and social media, it is no wonder why we have so many outburst of violent behavior, using all different kinds of tools to impose harm upon others.
Yes, we have Gun Violence alongside the many other kinds of violence.
But instead of wasting time focusing on Gun(s), we should instead focus on the cause of Violence.
Focus on the real problem, and not just upon a tool.
This is clear and simple, for all those who can think clearly and simply.
