My neighbor is from El Salvador gets Obamacare AND tax refunds from $2500-$4000 every year on income that isn't taxed. She gets a 1099 every year but files a return to get the tax incentives. She pays ZERO taxes. THIS IS WHY YOU HEAR RINOS AND DEMS SAYING THEY'RE TAX PAYERS! The truth is they only file returns for the free stuff and refunds.

I know this because I help her file her paperwork every 6 months for the FREE Healthcare she gets for her and her adult disabled son. I have to see her tax returns to do the paperwork. The fact that is been going on for so long is astounding to me.

My mom raised three kids by herself and was working at a plant… doing very physical work in the 70’s, trying to take care of us. Hurt her back and the above is what we lived on for the next couple of years. I will never eat powdered eggs or powdered potatoes again. But do appreciate the fact that we had something to eat.

You went to a food pantry and picked it up. And we had free lunches… I wouldn’t eat them because my ticket (we would get a pack of tickets per used to pay for our ) was a different color than the other kids. I was embarrassed and would go without.

@janninereid1 Yes….. In East Texas they were called “licks” in school … the number of licks fit the behavior … for example a minor offense “chewing gum” at my school you could choose “licks” or “detention” after school for a week. Things were Much stricter back in the day.
