Last week, the Dallas Police Department sent more than 20 women to the Women of Law Enforcement Conference hosted in Fort Worth. For the past four years, the Department has sponsored women of the Dallas Police Department for this wonderful event, and all the attendees enjoyed it immensely. The conference aims to bring together women, sworn and professional staff, of law enforcement agencies across the country for a week of extensive training and networking. All in attendance had the opportunity to take part in courses that discussed case studies, investigations, wellness and health, and leadership. Other hands-on courses, such as defensive tactics and firearms, were also available.

 Lastly, two of our officers had the honor of serving as instructors and taught courses regarding leadership/empowerment.

We are incredibly proud of our employees for taking time to invest in themselves and others. We can’t wait until next year!

The Dallas Police Department Crime Scene Unit was named the 2025 Unit of the Year by the National Forensic Science Association and was presented with a commemorative award. Aside from the unit receiving recognition, our very own Latent Print Examiner, Elizabeth Molina, was recognized as Latent Examiner of the Year. She too was presented with a commemorative award.

September 14-20, 2025, was designated as National Forensic Science Week, a time to bring awareness to the public of the priceless contributions made by those individuals who work in the vocation of Forensic Science. Each year these individuals are recognized and celebrated for their hard work and dedication to the cause of justice through scientific investigation.

The Dallas Police Department congratulates our Crime Scene Unit and Examiner Molina on a job well done. We sincerely thank you all for your tireless efforts in serving the people who live in, work in, and visit our great city. Your dedication and professionalism help make the Dallas Police Department one of the top-tier law enforcement agencies—second to none.
