This isn’t system change. To the contrary, it will exacerbate existing problems. To use super majority in Parliament to railroad bad laws, despite opposition, shows disdain for public and dissent. The reasons given for your bad decisions don’t stand up to scrutiny.

Starting the day at the impressive Maha Saman Devalaya in Ratnapura, a temple with roots in the 13th century. One of Sri Lanka's most sacred sites, dedicated to Saman, guardian deity of Sri Pada.
As part of #PeacebuildingWeek, the event featured public officials & community leaders from across Sri Lanka who offered unique perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of building more inclusive and connected communities.
Public servants play a key role in building trust between communities & the govt.

The world's challenges are too complex to address without the leadership, expertise and perspectives of women.
On #WomenInDiplomacy Day, I celebrate and salute my sisters in diplomacy, who are shaping more inclusive, peaceful and sustainable futures for generations to come.
"The Peacebuilding Fund acts like an angel investor for peace, it takes risks, drives inclusion and supports national ownership."
Marc-André Franche @MAFrancheUN, UN Resident Coordinator @UNSriLanka, on seeing the Fund's impact first-hand as the PBF marks 20 years. #PeacebuildingWeek #PBF20
The Indian Ocean is the lifeblood of our region but faces growing pressure from drug trafficking, illegal fishing, smuggling & more.
I had the pleasure of speaking at @UNODC's Law of the Sea & Governance training to build knowledge among regional officials & protect our oceans.
We pay homage today to the 136 @UN colleagues who lost their lives while serving for peace, development & human rights; doing their jobs caring for others #inmemoriam 🇺🇳 https://t.co/xE1qv5BRdK @MFA_SriLanka
A Sri Lankan woman has reportedly been killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon after remaining in the area to care for stray cats and dogs, according to reports by Al Jazeera and local media.
The woman, identified as Rahma, had reportedly refused to leave despite the ongoing conflict, choosing instead to stay behind to look after abandoned animals. Social media posts and regional reports said she was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon.
The incident comes amid continued Israeli military operations across southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire arrangement. Recent Israeli strikes in the region have killed multiple civilians and caused widespread destruction, according to reports from Al Jazeera.
