The decision not to vet the National Security Advisor, Jonathan Powell, was a deliberate one.
The reason behind that decision could only be that the person who took it did not believe he would pass it and did not care.
Which means that Jonathan Powell was deliberately put in post by someone at the very highest level to deliver something that could not or would not be delivered by someone else who was properly vetted.
Keir Starmer personally appointed Jonathan Powell as the UK’s National Security Adviser on 8 November 2024.
Keir Starmer, it should be remembered, also appointed Peter Mandelson to the post of UK ambassador to the United States before vetting was even completed, and then confirmed him in post, ignoring the vetting agency's recommendation.
Both Powell and Mandelson are/were advocates of an ever deeper relationship between the UK and China. Powell being a significant advocate for the surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, a development that could only strengthen China’s position in a contested region of the world.
I’ve said for a long time that I believe Starmer has been compromised and this revelation that Starmer personally appointed Powell to such a critical post without vetting shows that Starmer s actions were at the very least highly irregular, extremely questionable and certainly undermining of UK national security.
Consider every action of Starmer as PM and the conclusion becomes self evident.

BREAKING:
The White House has announced temporary and localized ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia in Oleshky.
The office of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump announced that, through her mediation, Russia and Ukraine have agreed on a temporary ceasefire starting October 29th to allow humanitarian aid deliveries and civilian evacuations through safe corridors.
Oleshky sits on the left bank of the Dnipro river in the Russian-occupied part of the Kherson region and has been cut off from the outside world. Starvation has been reported from the town.
20 000 people lived in Oleshky when Russia launched its full-scale invasion on Ukraine in 2022.
15 000 still lived there on June 6th 2023 when the Russian Army blew up the Kakhovka Dam, causing catastrophic flooding downstream.
More than 200 people in Oleshky drowned in the masses of water and thousands more fled the town.
Today, between 1700 and 2000 people are estimated to live in the frontline town.

NEW: Italy’s Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said the recent riots in Milan and other parts of Italy were the result of what he called a hybrid war being waged against Western countries through unconventional tools such as TikTok, social media and YouTube.
Crosetto said that three in ten young people had participated in the demonstrations and six in ten supported them, arguing that young people had been subjected to a counter-education outside their families and schools that shaped their values, ambitions and worldview in ways that conflict with democratic rules.
HOT OFF THE PRESSES. CHAOS INC. is growing. Who is behind the protests in France and Europe?

🔴🟢 Only 1 in 3 student or youth; the rest are adults
🔴🟢 They plan “Acte II” on Saturday OCTOBER 24 with protests across France
🔴🟢 The protests are being amplified by the network in the US funded by Neville Roy Singham, the American communist tycoon living in Shanghai supporting the Chinese Communist Party.

The entire shtick of the ITV anti-Reform piece is brazenly convoluted. The doom music, the grey filter, the slo-mo fluttering union flags on dilapidated buildings.
It is dystopian in its regime-esque demonisation of 'political opposition'
But ITV is not a political party. It is a part publicly funded broadcaster.
Someone else could have edited a year of footage with positive exchanges showing camradery, wins, hard work and hope and dressed it up in Hovid advert aesthetics for a completely different 'documentary'. That would be equally contrived.
Journalism should be about recording events as they really are. Not constructing a propagandising pastiche.
I started my journalism career with ITV and loved it. The newsrooms were discernibly freer and less snobby and groupthinky than the BBC ones I worked in. It makes me so incredibly sad to see ITV forsake its standards and its place as the real person's channel to become part of the Woke Mob's march through the institutions and self appointed morality police.
It's also increasingly agonising to see a profession I studied for and I have worked in for 20 years be ransacked by repeated examples of flagrant bias, become so distrusted and therefore displaced by people who are not real journalists. The sacred bond between newscasting and the public is a tragic joke today.
And that is one of many symptoms of a sick society in the process of breaking down.
