And a camera with rolls of film in a plastic baggy.
“I’ve been… trying to pack up…” nate’s house, “and… he was going to give that to you on your eighteenth birthday. So, you could take pictures on your adventures.
The jacket… well, figured you’d want it. It’s okay if not.”
When he pulled back, Luke wiped his face, a few sniffles of his own were given. He looked at his bag then back towards Riley a few times.
“I uhm… I have something for you…” he turned away to rummage through his bag.
He pulled out a neatly folded tan jacket, clearly worn.

Luke just took this moment to hold him tightly. He knows this is a new thing for him. Though Luke has experienced grief before, this — this was different.
He silently had tears running down his face, giving Riley a small squeeze, telling him it’s okay.
Joel sits on the armchair with Anna , keeping an eye on Riley and Luke — Riley didn't take the news very well. It upset him and made him very angry - he's just a kid , grief is a new emotion for him.
Riley smiled when he saw Luke , but then his bottom lip wobbled.
“Oh… how cool,” he smiled, he’s not… really a big fan of aquariums anymore, “my mom used to talk about them.”
He’s sliding down his bag for a moment, walking over to Riley so he could bring him in for hug. Excuse him. He’s not seen him since the news.

“Oh , there she is ! Ain't you a happy lil Baba today ~ hey Lucas. ” he smiled , stepping aside to let them both in.
Luke has one of Nate’s backpack full of things and Anna wrapped up on his chest. He’s knocking on the door, patiently waiting for @godstx
He needs to see Riley. Anna and grandpa can have some time together.
Luke spent the rest of his day at Nate’s. He’s been boxing things up, throwing things away, setting aside things to give to people.
Hasn’t touched the pictures yet - can’t - not yet.
@bostonqz He’s knocking a little before entering. He’s cautious from the last time he entered without permission and… they just had a spat. He doesn’t want to cross boundaries if she put them in place.
“Uhm… it’s me, I brought the kid as a peace offering,” small joke to break the ice.
And you think she wants that all the time? So, you don’t talk about aliens or science shit.
It didn’t bother her before? It’s not gonna bother her now.
But nothing.
Dad — you two are best friends. No fight or anything will change that. And nobody she becomes friends with can replace that either. Because there is no other Joel Miller out there.
