@gantisdant These new spaces, and forms of communication we haven’t yet fully adjusted to as a society (ie social media) have changed the concept of a “town square” meaning the ways we share ideas and language have completely changed.
Naturally, we should expect change in the words we see.
@gantisdant Language changes over time and isn’t controlled by any dictionary
Like it or not people use “yas” as a word
If you view language solely by the definitions of formal systems like standardised educational English or dictionaries, realistically you’ll be left short.
@gantisdant Realistically - the natural evolution of language has changed and evolved, where initially we’d see local or tribal differences, now things emerge from digital spaces, environments that are fully fabricated by users who make up that instance.
P.S - it's been a long time forming but expect changes to my content, collating and work moving forward!
It's been a goal of mine for years but I've just never had the time to fully commit to updating things, 2025 is the year for that!
-Luv ya all,
Equinox.
