There’s no way it’s for “self preservation” because there are times when I don’t want too. Sometimes I wish I was still blind to sin. However, I glorify Him still.

You seem to lack faith in everything that isn’t science but realistically anything can be tweaked to make something appear wrong. I’ve actually had experiences with God which is why I have faith.

There are other ways of punishment that aren’t physically or emotionally abusive. God punished Eve because she disobeyed Him. However, this is all before Christ. Punishment looks different.

He doesn’t beat me until I break because I didn’t fetch him water. He just asks that I glorify Him because He is the creator. He wants us to prosper and live in this beautiful world He has made for us.
