This will be my most sincere tweet ever.
I am pleading with anyone who will listen. I’m begging you, as a nurse, from the bottom of my heart…please get vaccinated. Today.
I’m so tired. We’re all so tired. And we’re running out of resources and people. Please…please help us.
I don’t know how @taylorswift13 managed to write a song that feels both nostalgic & innocent while also capturing what it feels like to make your way back to the person you love most. Perfect for @toystory & even more perfect for dancing to in the kitchen baking cookies❤️💙💛
This is NOT the OG Freaky Friday. It’s ‘Wish Upon a Star’ and it’s definitely not a Disney movie. Disney acquired the rights to air the movie in the late 90s and thus the movie became associated with the ‘Disney Channel Original’ branding.
Finally getting around to watching The Crown & just remembered when my 10 y/o self asked my mother with all the earnestness in the world, why whales needed a princess to reign over them.
this man understood women. wow. she’s not even sexualized as she’s naked, she’s just existing as most of us do: random fondling of body parts, weird pose, stomach rolls and a messy environment. he does not attempt to make her this sexualized ideal like so much other nude art does
@thintechgodhead Same, literally about to delete my other reply to someone about this bc you’ve helped me see it from a different perspective and that’s like…a one in a million type interaction on here these days. I really appreciate you🩷
@thintechgodhead And as a nurse, I get frustrated with the misinformation and then I get sensitive about bc of my sibling and I say things in a shitty way. I’m genuinely sorry for how I worded my original tweet.
@thintechgodhead YES! My mother fought for me to be assessed and diagnosed in the 90s which was rare for girls then. And now it’s like a cute and quirky thing. Meanwhile I forget to eat, can’t brush my teeth, and don’t feel time passing.
I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through all of that.
@thintechgodhead No I understand, I’m sure you have - so many people don’t believe or understand ARFID. I’m sure you feel that much more deeply than I do. I think thats just why I get sensitive about these kinds of videos cause it’s like the…TikTokification of ADHD if that makes any sense??
@thintechgodhead You’re right, I didn’t word that as well.
I get concerned when I see things like this bc I have seen the genuine trauma and harm. And as we’ve all seen w/ other mental health disorders, over-simplifying can lead to trivializing but I didn’t convey that properly, im sorry.
@thintechgodhead And I genuinely, honestly hate that for you. I’ve watched my sibling struggle his entire life with ARFID and has been hospitalized many times due to starvation. I am truly sorry you’ve struggled with that. My intention is genuinely to ensure it’s NOT made light of.
@thintechgodhead Whether she’s been formally diagnosed with ARFID or not, I have no idea.
But I also know the very real dangers of over simplifying debilitating illnesses to a point where they become discredited (ie; ADHD, chronic pain, panic attacks, etc).
That’s all I’m saying.
@thintechgodhead So im not trying to be rude.
I have cared for several patients with ARFID. I also grew up with a sibling with ARFID. very familiar with it both academically, personally, and professionally.
I’m not negating her anxiety. I’m saying it’s important to not trivialize the issue.
@thintechgodhead It’s not about personal experiences, it’s about clinical presentation.
Texture is one of the primary triggers in ARFID, so even if cake is a safe food, the moment its texture changes bc it’s stale, the “safe” factor is gone.
ARFID is real, but this isn’t it and that’s okay.
