My politics has always been based on ideology- I had joined 'All India Forward Bloc', as the party was established by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, but I was disillusioned as I could not work on the ground to spread Netaji's inclusive ideology among the youth. I joined BJP as I was impressed by Narendra Modi who came with a development drive. Left BJP as the party failed to establish 'Azad Hind Morcha', as promised to implement Netaji's ideology. I joined TMC as I admired the mass appeal of Mamata Banerjee. The critical point- I never joined the winning side for any vested interests. All India Forward Bloc, as part of the Left Front lost power, BJP in 2016 in West Bengal was on the losing side & TMC in 2026 lost the election. Wonder whether any other politician can match this track record. I could have stayed on with BJP in spite of basic ideoligical diffferences for a plum position- but my conscious did not permit. I am happy to be independent now. Jai Hind!
