Flora sends a warning to the whole house: "no more gisting in the bedroom... If you don't allow me sleep, I scatter everywhere " 🤣🤣

a cheating man is bad enough. you know what is worse? a man who pretends to be good when in reality he’s a pathological liar, lustful, a manipulator and plays the victim.
I really dislike the concept of “we experience people differently” because what have I done for you to be horrible to me but kind to the next person?? 😭
I was 16 years old when this photo was taken. This was the first time I would “go out” with a male. It was a secondary school class mate
My mum was aware
Not only was she aware but we picked out my dress and did my hair together
I told her that a boy wanted to take me out and she said “sure, go and sit and gist”
This is how I was raised
And I personally believe that this was the main reason why I grew up chaste and did not make dumb mistakes as a growing young woman
Because my mum was my friend. She knew when to be a mother and when to be a big sis. When to be my bestie
Every man that spoke to me , my mum knew
I did not have have hide
I did not have to pretend
She told me I would like boys and that it was totally fine. But that it was like a plant I could nurse till it grows into something sinful, or I could quash it
She told me about sex
She told me outside marriage it wasn’t worth it and would just leave heartbroken and waste my time
She told me EVERYTHING.
You could not tell me anything new.
We gisted about boys.
She shared her own experiences growing up with me
She trusted me enough to send me out to meet a boy and not do anything foolish and come back home.
We grew up conservative but my mum made sure I made decisions by myself and understood the “why” behind the rules.
She taught me about consequence
She taught me about how that Gods way is always best
You could not deceive me
You could not lie to me and tell me rubbish
Mumsy was always ten steps ahead
The woman that I am today, I owe to my mother.
I hope more mothers, especially Christian mothers understand how to tow this delicate line
May God help us.
Today, I choose to remember Ochanya Ogbanje, a bright little girl who lost her life in 2018 at age 13 after being ràped for five straight years by her uncle and his son Andrew and Victor Ogbuja.
Ochanya developed a vesicovaginal fistula and was leaking urine and poop till she finally passed on on the 17th of October, 2018.
Today, seven years later, her abusers walk as free men. The world might be silent about Ochanya’s case and getting her justice but we will never forget her story.
I wish to God that those men meet very horrible ends. They killed Ochanya and it is very sad.
@KonChirwa It’s so painful that the girl child is not safe students in the ozoro university are panicking as the festival will still continue tomorrow, more boys are planning to harass more girls even going to their hostels to look for them
My mom was never the “cool mom.”
She didn’t let me sleep over at friends’ houses much. Didn’t let me go to every party. If something ended late, she was already outside waiting before it was even over.
I used to get so embarrassed.
Other parents trusted their kids more. Other moms weren’t “so strict.” I’d slam doors. Tell her she was suffocating me. Tell her she didn’t understand.
She never yelled back.
Just said, “You’ll thank me one day.”
I hated that sentence.
When I was 19, I found out she’d been taking self-defense classes.
Not for her.
For me.
On her days off, after 10-hour shifts, she’d go to a small gym across town. Paid cash. Never mentioned it.
In her drawer, after she passed, I found a folder. Inside were printouts, crime statistics in our area, bus routes I used, emergency contacts taped neatly in the corner.
And a small can of pepper spray still in its packaging.
There was a note clipped to it.
“In case I’m not there one day.”
All those nights she waited outside. All those calls asking, “Where are you?” All those rules I thought were control.
She wasn’t trying to cage me.
She was trying to outthink a world that scares mothers in ways daughters don’t fully see yet.
She didn’t say “I love you” every day.
She said it by staying awake until she heard the door unlock. By learning how to protect me even when I rolled my eyes at her. By preparing for dangers she prayed I’d never face.
And now I understand.
She wasn’t strict.
She was afraid of losing me in a world that doesn’t always protect girls the way mothers wish it would.

We have a MALE BEGGING problem.
E don reach men turn, e don turn ‘we’.
Women weren’t making a fool of themselves and doing begging gymnastics with ENTITLEMENT AND AUDACITY on that stream, they were all MALES!
