I hope @Dani_A_01000011 doesn't mind me tagging her to say her session on neurodiverity in health data analysis was one of my favourite sessions of #HACA2024. Thank you so much for shining a light on the strengths of people who are neurodivergent in data.
Great morning at #HACA2024 hearing about the impact of data on improving outcomes and promoting equity in health.
I'm here with a poster on work I completed at Macmillan Cancer Support but also excited to make connections for my (new) role in data analytics at NICE!
Having a great time at #haca2024 - really interesting talks about the value of data analysis in health care.
Absolutely loving seeing so many women in data on the stage 😍
@AvantiWestCoast What is wrong with your ticket booking system? Tried to book tickets yesterday and today and the system has failed every time, no matter the payment type or options selected. Please sort it out.
For #InternationalWomensDay and throughout March we're sharing a series of blogs around gender inequalities within healthcare.
@macmillancancer first guest author is Dr Hannah Tharmalingam who discusses how current healthcare systems are failing women.

Brilliant day at the inaugural #CRUKDataConf24. Want to find out more about the holistic concerns voiced by people living with cancer and how we're using data to find gaps in what support is available? Find me tomorrow at poster spot number 3! 💚 @macmillancancer
Fantastic talk and work from Mark. Definite need for better partnerships and collaboration as equals across borders and siloes - inc. front line health staff/academics/researchers/industry/third sector and esp. patients to achieve the best cancer outcomes! #CRUKDataConf24
@alrightPET We did have an interesting discussion comparing Greta Thunberg and Obama, but the session still ended up concluding we should mimic powerful men. Never any analysis of how intersectional identities is the real driver of lack of confidence and lack of belief from other people!
Research shows that scientific endeavour is aided by diversity of thought, approach and experience and we want members of our community to know that we will continue to work to promote equality of opportunities and make science as open, inclusive and diverse as it should be.
I'm so angry at the hateful rhetoric in the last couple of days.
Signposting this gender inclusive information about cancer (and other health conditions). And a promise that many people in the health service stand in solidarity and are not bigots. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

I have worked hard to make science more inclusive.
Science needs diverse researchers with varied interests & skills, and should apply itself to solving diverse global problems.
As far as I'm concerned, if the government wants to 'kick out the woke', they'll need to sack me.
@tausigm_ It would genuinely be amusing how quickly their attitudes change when they find out that you're aware of the equality act, but unfortunately they literally have your job in their hands so it ceases to be quite as funny!
One of the main problems with #AskDontAssume is that in my experience people don't have an issue asking. Employers/doctors/strangers all constantly ask for personal medical information. The issue is they don't listen and make assumptions anyway, disregarding what you've said.
@alrightPET@Suw The restrictions are stupid. As I was previously employed as a healthcare worker my last vaccination was a long time ago. I'm also disabled+ previously had long COVID, but ineligible despite also caring for vulnerable family and still working in cancer with HCPs 🙃
