The backlash to Beyonce having an American flag for her country album is not only forced, but it’s very weird. She is an American citizen sporting the flag of her birth country. You already don’t want her in country, and you’re using the war to justify why you wanna punch down on her for being Black and being proud of her ethnicity (American). This has nothing to do with your fake moral superiority, you just don’t want that Black country singer to be sporting the flag for her album cover, because you’re more comfortable seeing it affiliated with whiteness…. Even though she’s an American as well. It’s another form of pushing her out of a space, you deem only for whites. People can critique their county while still being proud of their roots.
