I've been working with frontier models since Project Glasswing and I've always had a moderate doomer perspective on the direction this technology is moving. However, I'm not buying this current doomer trend. Too coincidental that this surge is happening right before mid-terms with it being heavily politicized by both parties from polar opposite positions.

I also can't ignore the VC funding trail for OAI and Anthropic along with these new safety startups that their former engineers are building.

Anthropic has been pretty direct about their distain for open weight models, its clear they are just pushing the gov for heavy regulations to crush the smaller competition.

I fed GPT-6 Astra 9 crappy photos of my studio and it was able to understand the spatial arrangement, stitch them together and create a fully interactive 3D model of the space.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

@SteveLovesAmmo My biggest issue is the job creation myth. They only bring in short term jobs (construction) but most of the employment is offshored with just a small amount of local jobs on site.
