Any gaps in coverage can delay preventive care, and this is concerning for young children as this is a period of rapid development. Continuous Medicaid coverage, approved in the last budget, will help eliminate these gaps.
OH resumed its Medicaid eligibility determination process in Feb '23. That process finishes this month. What happens to the families who lose coverage?

While nursing home enrollment has fallen, @o4aadvocacy reports 2,000 people waiting for home care due to the lack of providers - largely because rates have not kept up. Shoring up the HCBS system needs to be a high priority for Ohio's policymakers.
The Ohio Medicaid program also saw decreases in nursing home residents in the duals managed care program called MyCare. 20,197 people in March 2020. 17,298 people in March 2021. A decrease of almost 2,900 people.
