I've been locked out of YT on my work account for a week. This is becoming an *urgent* issue.

@mgattozzi@TuckerSiemens @josefwusel I didn't get very deep into using GraphQL, but unless you have a reason to use actix/rocket/etc, I would start with warp. Especially if you're getting started with Rust, you'll appreciate how simple warp is so you can focus on graphql.

@bitshiftmask I think docker is safe enough for the use-case of running a Rust application.
Unsolicited advice: If you adopt Docker, you may also want to also adopt docker-compose as a way to document deployment reqs. Good onboarding document!
@aJohnHunter Thanks for sharing. I think that you were able to articulate a lot of my feelings. Especially with regard to standardizing processes. The lack of instructions for how to implement is probably intimidating to software devs and former devs now in management.
I just got a history lesson to validate my personal thoughts re: DevOps not being a role.
Deming's "14 points for Management" spells out the value of DevOps as a culture.
The change has to start with your leadership!
@yankeeinlondon@yankeeinlondon Wow, thanks! I'm definitely interested. I'll send you a DM with my contact info and we can talk about details and schedule some time.
Instead, we just get "DevOps Engineers" and bitter System Admins rebranding themselves for more money and gatekeeping.
And there's no wonder why people still are skeptical about DevOps when Devs and Management think you can just buy it.
Is DevOps and Automation a zero-sum game with winners and losers? Who are the players?
I've been wondering why even near this WFH year, there's still a lot of misinformation and friction around DevOps. What do you think?

@TechConnectify I connect with your example when the tech is mature and the starting point is simple like loading laundry and there is generally low effort to restart.
What if the work I'm trying to avoid is sorting out the laundry?
Is this apples and oranges for performance gain?
