I already don't post super frequently, but if you want to stay in contact with me or need to reach me for something important, then please text/call me. If you don't have my cell, then dm me here or on discord. I'm removing socials from my phone and taking an indefinite hiatus.
@Pastrytime I am hoping this set visually is closer to Edge of Eternities than Doctor Who. Not because I dislike Doctor Who as a property or as a UB, but I do think it would help offset the frustration that a lot of the UB hater crowd has had.
@Silverddragn Light-years better than the Secret Lair bullshit I tried to put up with this morning for Magic. Would actually be happy to see MTG move to a lottery style system instead of forcing folks to wait in lines arbitrarily
@DShyKnock League of Legends Classic actually looked more dope and fun than I was expecting it to. Plus seeing Doublelift get to dunk on Captain Jack was a delight.
LCS I think was the big winner from the event. TL and Lyon both showed up and showed significant growth.
@doggyballsack@SaffronOlive That's all I was getting at. Obviously there is a reasonable argument to be made about constructed, non-edh formats being pushed out in favor of the cash cow, but UB IS bringing new players in that are getting excited about Magic altogether.
@doggyballsack@SaffronOlive Positive side being attracting new players, sorry Twitter character limit doesn't allow for expansive and nuanced discourse. These are folks that got excited by a UB set and have become part of the Magic ecosystem and are buying product from an LGS when they wouldn't otherwise.
@SaffronOlive Store is ~80% EDH. They do 1 draft a week and there is a core group from that 10% that make or break whether a draft fires. Marvel pre-release was packed and sold out, but the draft that weekend didn't fire because they refused to draft Marvel, despite being a fun limited format.
@SaffronOlive Just started going to a new LGS, and I have seen the positive side of UB on full display. ~60% of the Magic players are all relatively new folks that got into the game because of a UB set. ~30% are veterans along for the ride, and ~10% are UB haters that refuse to interact
@KangasCasts Definitely best he's been in a hot minute, but that first split he was back in NA on Liquid was LEGENDARY. He was literally flying circles around every team. Excited to see this team back for Summer and hope we can keep momentum positive.
@arshgoyal13 I wasn't planning on watching the KC T1 series initially, but it was on after my movie finished so I tuned in for game 2 to watch history repeat itself literally 24 later. Might be the most visceral example of experiencing schadenfreude in my life lmao.
@DShyKnock Theshy
Bengi
Uzi
Those are my picks overall. I do believe that there have been better mechanical Junglers and ADCs after Bengi and Uzi, but the level of impact they had in their teams and roles cannot be understated, imo.
