SIDENOTE:
Whatever happened to shows like BET's 'Access Granted' and MTV's 'Making The Video', that gave us an in-depth look at the hard work and dedication it took to bring a music video to life?
We used to be a proper country.
Thank you for bringing this up cause she was literally a junkie wigger teenager singing bad Mary J. Blige covers when LA Reid found her like he did NOT tell you to talk like this and come up with this mulatto backstory to sell your album 😭
Wake it up. P!nk was not plucked from nowhere and forced into R&B by L.A. Reid. She was already performing in the Philadelphia club scene as a teenager, including as a backing vocalist for the hip-hop group Schoolz of Thought. Eventually, she went on to join the R&B group Basic Instinct, then formed the R&B trio Choice, whose demo led to their signing with LaFace. After her R&B debut became a mainstream success, she moved away from the genre and reinvented herself as a rock-pop star.
I double dog DARE yall to act confused as to why she said this. How many times have corporations and yall fave artists take and use “ __ girl summer” when everyone knows WHERE it was popularized from and came from. I want yall to act dumb. She is heavily associated with summer.
national suicide prevention month 🤍 I think about Phyllis Hyman a lot. her voice was so beautiful, and she was such a talented singer and songwriter. it’s so sad knowing that she was carrying so much pain of her own and ultimately ended it all in 1995 at just 45 years old. I wish she could’ve known how much she mattered and how many people would still be listening to her and loving her all these years later. please be gentle with yourselves. 🤍
