Letâs go.
Story time:
Back in 2021, my friend Leo thought he had cracked crypto.
Every token with âmoon,â âdoge,â or âelonâ in the name he was in.
He told everyone, âBro, Iâm early. This is the next big thing.â
Two weeks later, his wallet was emptier than his hope.
Why?
He was investing in noise, not value.
He didnât understand what made a project good he just followed the crowd.
So today, letâs make sure you donât repeat Leoâs mistake.
Hereâs how to actually spot a good project without getting lost in the hype.
1. Start With the Problem
Every strong project starts by fixing something real.
If you canât explain what problem it solves in one sentence, itâs probably not worth your time.
Ask yourself:
â âWhy does this exist?â
â âWould people care if it disappeared tomorrow?â
If the answer is no, then itâs not solving anything that matters.
Real projects fix pain points not just chase trends.
2. Check the People Behind It
Forget logos, followers, and buzzwords.
Whoâs actually building it?
â Are the founders public and active?
â Have they built or contributed to anything before?
â Do they engage openly with the community?
If you canât find whoâs behind the curtain youâre probably the product.
Good teams donât hide. They show up.
3. Look at the Community
You can tell a lot about a project by its people.
If everyoneâs only shouting âwen moon??â or ânext 100x soon!â thatâs not a community.
Thatâs a casino chatroom.
But when you see people asking smart questions, sharing ideas, giving feedback thatâs a good sign.
Because real believers talk about the mission, not just the market cap.
4. Understand the Token (If There Is One)
A good token isnât made for gambling itâs built for purpose.
Ask:
â Whatâs this token actually used for?
â Does it have utility (access, governance, staking)?
â Or is it just there to make early buyers rich?
If you canât explain the tokenâs purpose in your own words skip it.
5. Watch How They Communicate
Youâll notice this pattern fast:
Scam projects promise everything.
Real ones communicate clearly.
A good team updates regularly, shares progress, and owns up when things go wrong.
Theyâre not shouting âpartnership soonâ every week.
Theyâre building quietly and consistently.
6. Try It Yourself
If you can, use the product.
Does it actually work?
Is it easy to understand?
Does it feel like something people outside crypto could use too?
Because great products feel real.
Not just hyped in whitepapers and pitch decks.
The truth:
Spotting a great project isnât about being early itâs about being aware.
Hype fades. Utility lasts.
And those who stay patient and observant always end up ahead.
So next time you feel FOMO kicking in, remember Leo.
He chased noise.
You? Youâre chasing knowledge.
Thatâs how you win long-term.
