Vivre dans le même quartier ne signifie pas qu’un groupe a le droit de se l’approprier ou de décider qui a sa place ou non. Harlem possède une histoire afro-américaine riche et profondément ancrée, mais les immigrés africains ont tout autant le droit d’y vivre, d’y travailler et d’y construire leur communauté. L’immigration n’est pas une invasion, et qualifier ainsi la présence d’Africains est profondément injuste.

Making fun of someone because of their English? What a cheap shot. English is not everyone’s first language, and having an accent or making mistakes doesn’t make anyone less intelligent. At least he speaks his mother tongue! Before mocking someone for their English, ask yourself how many languages you speak and how perfectly you speak them. Stop confusing fluency in English with intelligence. Respect people instead of embarrassing them for speaking a language that isn’t even their own.
