🐢Ukrainian fitness trainer detained in Oman for mistreating a turtle

Vadym Oleynik and his partner, Olena Kravchenko, found themselves at the center of a scandal while on vacation.

The footage shows the couple sitting on a sea turtle that was laying eggs in the Ras Al Hadd area and riding on it. The tourists also picked up newly hatched baby turtles.

Oman’s Environment Authority said that in nesting areas, it is prohibited to touch turtles, approach them, or disturb the animals.

The Royal Oman Police detained the couple at the airport. It is not yet known what punishment they face.
