Everyone talks about liquidity.
Few talk about the quality of that liquidity.
It is easy to flood a pool with capital for a short-term boost.
It is harder to structure liquidity so that it endures, protects itself, and adapts as markets shift.
Stable money cannot rely on fragile capital. It must be built with allocators who understand risk and stay the course. Without that, liquidity is capital that vanishes when it’s needed most.
At Tharwa, every integration is built for resilience first. The liquidity behind thUSD and sthUSD is more than numbers on a dashboard. It is capital aligned with partners who know how to manage billions, not just chase yield. And it is strengthened by the community that builds with us.
Tharwa × Office of Sheikh Maktoum Suhail Al Maktoum × Al Maktoum Technologies
Tharwa has entered a landmark alliance with the Office of Sheikh Maktoum Suhail Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai’s ruling Al Maktoum family (https://t.co/p05ifZAjUF), and Al Maktoum Technologies to bring the UAE’s AI economy on-chain.
The UAE has committed over $1.4 trillion to AI investment through 2031, with AI expected to contribute 13.6% of GDP, the highest in the GCC and among the largest shares worldwide. By then, the domestic AI economy will reach $96 billion, making it one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world. At the same time, the UAE’s blockchain industry is expanding at a 42% annual growth rate, driven by a national strategy to move 50% of all government transactions on-chain. No other nation has committed to AI and blockchain at this scale.
This alliance is one of the first between UAE royalty and a blockchain-native project to directly target the AI sector. As a member of Dubai’s ruling family, Sheikh Maktoum Suhail Al Maktoum brings direct access to the UAE’s most influential AI and technology leaders. Beyond his position and networks, he has a strong personal interest in crypto and blockchain innovation, aligning with Tharwa’s mission to build the financial rails for the next era of infrastructure.
At today’s meeting between Tharwa CEO Saeed Al Fahim and Sheikh Maktoum, discussions advanced on how AI infrastructure investments could be structured on-chain through Tharwa’s stablecoin and vault ecosystem. The vision includes tokenizing AI projects into $thUSD-backed products, creating dedicated AI sector vaults, establishing on-chain liquidity channels for sovereign wealth fund participation, and exploring new models for ethically structured investment vehicles.
With sovereign wealth funds like Mubadala ($330B+) and MGX (raising $25B+ for AI infrastructure) already accelerating the nation’s AI agenda, this alliance places Tharwa at the center of three converging forces: sovereign capital, AI infrastructure, and decentralized finance.
With this alliance, the UAE’s AI economy is set to be financed and scaled through blockchain infrastructure, with Tharwa at the intersection of royal leadership, sovereign capital, and next-generation stablecoin systems.
Further announcements will follow as products, partnerships, and integrations roll out through 2025.
We have officially reached a key milestone: the full $500k Phase 1 mint cap of $thUSD has been filled.
This was a controlled rollout with a strict cap to test systems and keep things disciplined. Even so, demand came in fast. The market is telling us what we already knew: there is real appetite for a stablecoin that is built to scale.
Next week, the cap expands. Liquidity grows. And with institutional partners already expressing interest, $thUSD is moving beyond early adopters and into the hands of serious capital.
Phase 1 is complete.
The next phase is about acceleration.
