@The1andOnlyNow Perfectly said and absolutely true. We truly need to get rid of the stigma that surrounds mental health so that people will feel comfortable and safe getting the help they need when they are suffering from any mental illness.
@MikeJMele We have been in the midst of a #stigma epidemic for years.
People are dying because they’ve been stigmatized and criminalized and feel like they need to hide their symptoms or hide their addiction.
Decriminalize and de-stigmatize #mentalillness and #addiction.
#Recovery#Live
You feel hopeless, helpless and hurt. No longer does the monster hide under your bed, now it resides in your mind and goes by the name of #depression. He is very real and if you don't think so then I'm very happy to know that you've never met him.
@ChloeBellerbyMH I’d like to add to that it’s not your fault and I can promise you, although every fiber of your being is telling you otherwise but this too shall past.
@ChloeBellerbyMH#Facts!
It’s vItal to put yourself 1st when it comes to #mentalhealth#recovery!
( Like when the oxygen masks drop from the ceiling in an airplane, the instructions are for you to put a mask on yourself 1st, then and only then are you to proceed in assisting others in any way!)
Shoutout to every single person who has ever been suicidal/had suicidal thoughts, and to those that are in constant battle with their own mind. I see you and I am glad you’re still here.
I never CHOSE to be mentally ill BUT I did get the choice of whether I wanted to recover or not. I did get to decide that I didn’t want to live my life like that any more, or ever again. I did get to decide that I wanted to get better. Choosing recovery means choosing LIVING.
