I believe in something called “American Exceptionalism“ which loosely translates to the notion that the United States has been a remarkable country of extraordinary accomplishment over some two and a half centuries.
Give credit to the Founding Fathers for creating a nation devoted to the principles that all are created equal and all should be free to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Give credit also to the so-called “greatest generation” who some eighty years ago helped win World War II and pull humankind back from fascism and evil. And give credit, too, to the inventors — whether it was the ones who sparked the Industrial Revolution of the 1800’s or more recently who led the world’s transformation into the Information Age of modern day.
The U.S. has been far, very far, from perfect, but overall it has been a country committed to achieving progress and unabashedly one that has been striving for greatness.
Which takes me to last night.
Almost half the country watched on live television a train wreck right before their eyes. What might have been an astounding and enlightening event instead was an appalling and embarrassing catastrophe. I keep my personal politics completely distant from my running the world’s largest movie theatre chain. Our company happily serves all people, regardless of their political ideology and views.
But right now, both as a citizen and as a leader, I feel compelled to speak out. So, this tweet is a personal one from me. It is not a corporate statement of the views of AMC Entertainment.
Neither the 45th President of the United States, nor the 46th President of the United States, should be our 47th.
Whether you like either of them or do not, we should thank each of them for having served our country with four years of leadership, But it is time to move on, to reach ahead not to look back.
As for President Trump, he is often untruthful and has been found in three separate courts so far to be less than honorable, with more trials possibly ahead. And as for President Biden, sadly father time is clearly robbing him of the mental acuity and physical energy to shoulder the burdens of the toughest job on the planet.
The American people deserve a better choice in November than that offered by President Trump or by President Biden. The world deserves an American leader more right for the challenges of the next four years.
It is time for Open Conventions in both parties.
It may be a very slim possibility of actually happening that America gets to have a do over, but in my view new leaders need to answer the call, rise to the moment, and immediately emerge to capture the two major parties nominations.
In my opinion, one that I believe is shared by millions if not tens of millions of potential U.S. voters, neither President Trump nor President Biden should be on the ballot this fall. Gentlemen, step down.
These days, kids don't open textbooks—they're irrelevant. Instead, they do hardware, software, and development! Schools need to give them the appropriate tools!
A future with robots integrated into our daily lives means a future in which we get to focus on the things that really matter to us. I'm very excited about this possibility.
I got to know Bill Brand while he served as Mayor & Councilmember of Redondo Beach. He fought valiantly until his last days, and made a lasting impact on the community & all who knew him.
May he rest in peace.

@TiVoSupport hi. We recently lost the guide for Bravo HD. So none of our shows are recording. I've re-checked the box to include the channel, but because the guide has the program name is blank, nothing is recording. What's the fix?
Three questions determine 99% of the happiness in your life:
1. What am I working on and why?
2. Who am I spending time with and why?
3. How well am I treating my body and why?
Everything else is noise.
About which policy would you like to hear a politician say:
“We tried __________.
It was an experiment.
Clearly we were wrong.
It’s time to switch gears and go back to: ____________.”
In 1584, the new Italian governor of the island of Corsica, was upset at the endless famines & heat waves there.
So he decreed that every man, woman, & child, regardless of age, had to prove that he or she had planted a tree.
Not just any tree: a drought-tolerant food-producer. Chestnuts, mulberries, figs, olives, etc.
The policy was a huge success. In the coming years, he increased the requirement to 10 trees per person, per year!
The result is an island of deep green forests everywhere. An amazing canopy of productive trees, clean air, and shade.
One policy can absolutely make a difference.
