Our first Cultural Appreciation Day at ACS organized by ACE was a success! So many students came to school in their cultural clothing. We would like to make this an event that takes place more than once a year! #celebrateculture@assumptionlion

Checking prior knowledge before we talk about contemporary Indigenous art… each year I see students more informed than the year before… truth and reconciliation work may be slow, but I see evidence of it happening in the minds & hearts of the students I work with

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This day recognizes and celebrates the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people of Canada. Today, specifically is a milestone for this day, as it is the 25th year being celebrated. 1/4
This is especially true considering the recent news and the way it has impacted the entire country. So today, let us remember the mistakes that were made and learn from them. Sorry isn't enough. Let us acknowledge, honour, and respect all those who have already left us behind 3/4
