@_BTPC_@SydneyLWatson Just for clarification, the chocolate mudcake is the cheap 10$ cake you get the supermarket here . The fast food of cake. They’re really good and get the job done but no one would call it a culinary masterpiece.
Im an Australian who was in Japan only a few weeks ago. Your service on the whole is definitely better. Far more engaged and active workers. Very polite. Very convenient society. The post though is defintely lying how lax work here is. Work isn't too different everywhere. We do, among the youth in minimum wage jobs, have a laziness problem. Taking a day because the "weather is great" happens amongst the worst youth but is greatly frowned upon by normal people and they don't last long. I work in such a job where we have hundreds of young staff, the worst are actually just people staying on working visa's who do habitually call in sick for no good reason, but that is probably true everywhere.
No long breaks, no leaving early for happy hour, we don't culturally go our for drinks after work, some people do go to the beach after work sometimes. We do clock out on time, unless you're in a trade or factory. They hunt for 12 hours days because overtime pay is really good.
Slang is accurate and that is the general culture though. I had a Japanese friend who said we were lazy and would live in Japan if he could make the same money and another Japanese friend who said she prefered our more relaxed culture in general. Strengths and weaknesses to both.
@Timcast “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
You're right that there's a distinction between men and woman here. But do get a kind of baby fever, especially in the context of a video game. Men don't experience care for squishing cheeks or such cutesy stuff, but they do like idea of having reponsibility for or protecting a child. Even is that child isn't their own, if they feel a sense of responibility toward it will trigger paternal instincts. If in this game the mother was right around the corner, no men would not have a paternal instinct as they wouldn't have any authority or responsibilty. But in the context of this game, a lone child in need of protection, then yes it does trigger paternal instincts. Same logic applies to Clementine in the walking dead.
Australia's birth rate I think is about to fall off a cliff over the coming years. I say this as a 25yo male Australian. I work in a female dominated tourism industry.
These girls DO NOT want to have kids. By complete voluntary choice, and they generally hate the idea of men. I don't think I've ever heard say anything postive about men as a sex, just individuals they are ok with.
Even though we aren't as polarised against each other as America, we are still certainly polarised and out situation is apocolyptic.
Trump is too stupid to be the anti-Christ and the end times haven’t started yet. The anti-Christ at least will fool the democrats and pro-abortion people. That is like the bare minimum. And then despite that he’ll be charismatic enough to fool many Christian’s and lead them astray. Trump is no where near this level of support or charisma or intelligence. The anti-christ won’t go on untethered social media rants

@latinedisce All the responses about us being fundamentally different is correct. However, I think the heart of the point of your question is who can we get along with better, and that is obviously the Jews. We call it Judeo-Christian values for a reason.
@kotakot07088271 This is why we must pray for Japan. By our own power we could cause nothing, we need Gods grace to convert people or a nation. I’m visiting soon so I will pray for Japan.
Aren't proclaiming to be Christian? Aren't overt magic rituals subtexts demonic? Don't you think this is dangerous and by extension her music?
I highly doubt she's a mystic consciously but I don't doubt she's got demons influencing her. I say this a fellow 24yo who was very much into this type of music before Christ.
@Antunes1 Then Peter approaching asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.
God sees all of time at once in Christian tradition, so you can’t surprise him. But we are given free will. He knows what we will choose even before we choose it, but he gave it to us anyway out of love for us.
In the same way, God enables natural selections (which in itself only exist because the world is fallen due to human choices), knowing how things will adapt.
Natural selection is byproduct of life being hard, but in evolutionary terms we love upward, but in I think a Christian understanding would suggest we actually evolve the more we move away from God, and the point of life is more back into relationship with God.
This may seem maladaptive at the time, but that’s how we know our God is the living God at work in the world. The pagan will work within the world and devolve into a power hierarchy, the Christian world view creates a moral hierarchy. Where killing with kindness, forgiveness and love are our basis.
We could say this is truly just the naturally most adaptive structure of human society, and though Christians do believe in natural graces which flow from being in alignment with the natural order, we also believe that the spread of Christianity, overcoming the Roman Empire, and conquering the world is also a result of the supernatural phenomenon that works in our hearts and in the world when we have faith in Jesus and live by his rules.
The legitimacy of his claim stems from Devine routes as he said, even though natural routes exist. And that belief/faith enabled its spread and is true, but if we turn away from it into the natural world alone we could never sustain any goodness because we would not have honoured the real God, thus having rejected him again as Adam did, and by result not have the grace to love to be good in a supernaturally real way that build and sustains true order and civilisation.
We will also be punished soon for this.
