Fecal Vomiting is a real medical condition. ๐คข๐คฎ
Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like: vomiting actual human feces.
When a person suffers from a severe, full bowel obstruction (caused by tumors, twisted intestines, or massive constipation), digested material has nowhere to go.
As the intestines continue to churn and contract, bacteria decompose the stagnant food, turning it into liquid, foul-smelling stercoraceous material.
Eventually, the immense internal pressure forces the contents backward up through the stomach, into the esophagus, and out of the mouth.
The smell alone is said to instantly make entire hospital trauma teams gag.

In 897 AD, the Catholic Church put a rotting human corpse on trial. ๐ฆดโ๏ธ
This event is known as the Cadaver Synod (Synodus Horrenda).
Pope Stephen VI was so furious at his dead predecessor, Pope Formosus, that he ordered his body to be exhumed 9 months after his death.
The rotting corpse was dressed in papal robes, sat on a throne, and assigned a lawyer to defend it.
During the "trial", Pope Stephen screamed insults at the corpse. Unsurprisingly, the dead pope lost the case.
His corpse was stripped, stripped of three fingers, dragged through the streets of Rome, and thrown into the Tiber River. ๐

For centuries, artists painted with a pigment made from crushed Egyptian mummies. ๐จ๐งโโ๏ธ
This color was officially called "Mummy Brown" (caput mortuum), and it was exactly what the name implied: a mix of human and feline mummy remains, ground into a fine powder and mixed with oil or varnish.
It was a highly desirable pigment, loved for its rich brown tone and used by famous artists like Eugรจne Delacroix and the Pre-Raphaelites in their masterpieces.
The practice was so common that a real shortage of mummies occurred. It only stopped when people realized why the color was named that way. The final tube of Mummy Brown is said to have been sold as late as the 1960s.
History wasn't just painted; it was ground up and brushed on canvas.

Owls don't have eyeballs. ๐ฆ๐๏ธ
Instead of spherical eyes, owls have rigid, elongated eye tubes held in place by bony structures called sclerotic rings.
Because their "eyes" are fixed in a permanent forward stare, they literally cannot roll or move their eyes at all.
To look around, an owl has to rotate its entire head โ up to 270 degrees โ without cutting off blood flow to its brain.
Oh, and if you look directly into an owl's ear hole, you can actually see the back of its eye socket. ๐ณ

Did you know there's a giant cloud floating in deep space that tastes like rum and smells like raspberries? ๐น๐
Located 27,000 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius, Sagittarius B2 is a massive molecular cloud containing billions of liters of ethyl formate.
This exact chemical compound gives raspberries their flavor and rum its characteristic smell.

Sloths can hold their breath underwater longer than dolphins. ๐ฆฅ๐ฌ
While dolphins need to surface for air every 10 to 15 minutes, a sloth can slow its heart rate down to a third of its normal pace, allowing it to hold its breath for up to 40 minutes.
They are also surprisingly 3x faster in water than on land.

In 1911, the Louvre was robbed.
The main suspect? Pablo Picasso. ๐จ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ
Hereโs the absurd story of how Picasso almost went to prison for stealing the Mona Lisa:
When the Mona Lisa vanished, police were desperate. They traced a ring of stolen Egyptian statues back to Picasso and his poet friend, Guillaume Apollinaire.
During interrogation, Picasso got so panicked he broke down in tears and straight-up lied in court, claiming he "had never seen this man before in his life" (about his best friend).
Turns out, Picasso did buy stolen Louvre artifacts, but he had nothing to do with the Mona Lisa.
The real thief? A Louvre employee who simply walked out with it under his coat.
