Asahi Group's disclosures on acquiring Diageo's stake in EABL Plc.
· The group says it believes the acquisition of EABL Plc presents a unique opportunity for acquiring a leading beverage platform in Africa & that this is the first of such investments in Africa
· As part of the proposed transaction, Diageo & EABL Plc have agreed to enter into long-term licensing agreements as well as transitional service
agreements.
· With the support of Asahi, locally owned brands will remain owned by EABL Plc (e.g. Tusker & Kenya Cane)
· There will be refreshed agreements for EABL Plc to produce certain Diageo spirits (e.g. Smirnoff & Captain Morgan) as well as Guiness brand under licence & the import & distribution of Diageo international premium spirits.

Diageo to sell its 65% stake in EABL to Japan’s Asahi for Sh300 billion.
Under the new deal, EABL will remain listed locally, Tusker & Kenya Cane will stay, and Asahi will become the controlling shareholder
