I swear I'm the opposite to most Arsenal fans.
They literally feed on negativity. You know "Granit Xhaka getting dispossessed compilation" is their first pornhub search on a lonely night in.
It's pretty weird.
Arsenal got pulled apart for dominating but drawing to Everton and Fulham at Craven Cottage. Everton have since drawn to Chelsea and Man City, Fulham have drawn to Liverpool and beat Chelsea away from home.
Turns out the Premier League is pretty tough.
A keeper sticking his leg out and making contact with an onrushing player has always been, and always will be a penalty.
Whether you agree with it or not, nothing else matters in that situation.
The keeper sticks his leg out and makes clear contact, 100% penalty. Simple.
Genuine question - why do football fans find a totally different rule book when it comes to Arsenal, seemingly subconsciously?
Three / four recent PL pens given without comment (Elliot vs MU) but the same fans find reasons that Saka wasn’t vs Bayern. It’s strange.
Is anyone going to make the point that Havertz shouldn’t have been on a yellow? Let alone the fact you never see yellows for that style of “dive” in the PL ever (I.e. contact but initiated).
It would have been an outrageous red card based on how the game is officiated.
16 goals scored and 2 conceded in the league since the winter break, and one of those was an own goal.
Arsenal have been cooking at the very highest level.
Declan Rice has bagged 7 G/A on the quiet so far this season, including two injury time winners.
For all his outstanding performances his output has gone under the radar given his position.
Jesus, Partey, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Smith Rowe, Vieira and Timber all out for Arsenal.
Seven first team level players missing, with many covering the same position.
Ødegaard engaging life long Arsenal and club photographer is a lovely moment, it connects the players with the staff, the fans, creates joy.
How on earth does @Carra23 manage to take issue with it? It’s a bit of fun, it’s positive, and no other club gets chastised for it.
Honestly.
A title challenge 6 pointer against the most in form team in the world and Arsenal deliver the most XG LFC have conceded on record and limit them to one shot on target…whats the headline?
Ødegaard taking photos of the cameraman.
The narrative & bias is relentless.
The pitch yesterday……
Ødegaard handball
Tsimikas injury
Martinelli miss (he and Konate slip)
Zinchenko on the 5 on 2
All players slips involved, some from players on both sides.
What was going on?!
Arsenal have more of a gap on Man City now than we did last season when you account for points and games in hand - so, assume we have bottled it if we don’t beat them now, as many others have after not winning the title with a minimal point gap.
Declan Rice will become an Arsenal legend. Remember he chose the club over Manchester City, a place where you guarantee success. He wanted this fight and he’s winning it. What a man.
In all this (imo understandable) chat about Arsenals attack, not a single person has mentioned that our first choice front line has barely played a game together this season, that and fixtures so far certainly effect the sample being used.
No denying we are defending more mind.
Imagine if the FA were “hugely concerned” about the standards of their officials and how it’s ruining football rather than people pointing it out? The game would be fixed in weeks.
