@YorkyNHLtips@phlipprnet@SpeakerJohnson Except Poilievre hasn't got a clue how to deal with the issue either. In fact he's been very quiet because he knows he wants to suck up to Trump and how badly that will go down with most Canadians. I can't stand Trudeau either - I detest nepotism.
@maria_m17793 @mjfree One party has, when the other had power, done everything to obstruct progress. Without control of the Senate, there's little the Democrats can do. Since 1980 the GOP has handed out massive tax cuts to the rich, run up the deficit, and removed protections for ordinary folk.
@alexwd@MattBinder America became great because it has abundant natural resources and is remote from most of the world, therefore very difficult to attack, even 200 years ago. Capitalism has nothing to do with it.
@jwindheim@jimstewartson The vast majority of bitcoin is owned by a relatively small # of people, a far worse distribution than exists with the US$. There's no value in the digital manifestation of someone else's imagination. The strategic reserve is simply intended to enrich those owners even more.
@a32oneguy@4TaxFairness@HC_Richardson You've been paying that much in taxes because the rich avoid paying. The problem isn't Government, never has been. The problem has always been tax avoidance by the rich. And now the US has voted into power one of the worst proponents.
@TonyDungy@MarchandSurgery If you were a true Christian, you would sell all your possessions and live in a commune. You would then live in a proper communist society. That you haven't done so, and never will, shows that you are not a true Christian.
@BehizyTweets Is that Government imposing regulations on private interests? I thought MAGA were all for personal freedom for individuals and corporations.
@paulmidler @BrianMannADK So Biden inherited a massive increase from Trump's last year in office, recognized it, and did something to reverse the trend.
Sounds like exemplary leadership and care for fellow citizens to me.
Not quite the slam dunk you thought.
@DrDenaGrayson No, he's never had a good belly laugh in public, I doubt he has privately either.
To laugh properly you need empathy for the basis of the joke, an understanding of the context. Since Trump is the most narcissistic person alive, he has zero empathy for anyone else or any thing.
@richsignorelli The US hasn't matured as a society. Your culture is always about winners and losers, and you don't have the patience to understand compromise - sometimes nobody wins. You're too focused on the individual and not the collective. It's sad that the US holds so much power.
@AlexUsherHESA It is interesting that removing retirement at 65 has led to more funding going to ageing academics at the expense of faculty renewal. Another side effect is a contribution to budget deficits, which have been leading to non-academic staff redundancies.
@Selena_Tuohy @JohnOBrennan2 Since Musk is actively working to promote a fascist dictatorship in the US (and would be happy to do so elsewhere), maybe you should reconsider who the "Nazis" currently.
@CharlieHowarth1@askquantum@JohnOBrennan2 Because the algorithms used by X appear to have been changed to promote right-wing disinformation. Likely on Musk's instructions.
