This photo just in from Japan, in time for my birthday! ~ Me at Hibiya Park Tokyo, outdoor show in the fall of 1972 with my band Vodka Collins. Never saw it before!! Lovely surprise from HanaHenro Guitars.
Four local New York shows this month for my band the Alan Merrill Extravaganza, with Amy Madden on bass and Mark Brotter drums. Come and join the fun! #alanmerrillextravaganza
@BBCR1@Ludovicaa @LadBabyOfficial Congratulations to LadBaby on "I Love Sausage Rolls" - making it my first number one as a songwriter in the UK! Joan Jett made #4 and Britney #14 with their covers of my old Arrows (RAK records) song from 1975. It's my best Christmas present ever, thanks LadBaby! CHEERS!
@jessgriff1988@officialcharts @LadBabyOfficial I wrote this song in 1975 and recorded the original version with my band the Arrows at Abbey Road studios on RAK records with Mickie Most producing. That the LadBaby video takes place at Abbey Road blows my mind! Well done, team LadBaby. Fun parody! #LadBabyOfficial
Congratulations to LadBaby making a debut at #1 in the UK iTunes charts with a parody of my old Arrows song from 1975 "I Love Rock N Roll" as "I Love Sausage Rolls"! When I wrote it back then I could never have imagined this! #ladbaby#ladbabyofficial#ilovesausagerolls
Hey, look what came in the mail for me today! The queen of rock n roll Suzi Quatroโs new film โSuzi Qโ !! Canโt wait to see it. Iโm told my band the Arrows get a name check in the movie too! Thanks so much for sending me the early Christmas present, Suzi! #SuziQ#SuziQuatro
My next live show will be at The Delancey NYC Oct. 29th 2019, with Amy Madden bass, Mark Brotter drums. Photo from The Brighton Bar in Long Branch NJ last week. #alanmerrill#TheDelancey
My friend and long time bass player (since 2011) Amy Madden - Taylor is a very gifted writer. She's also in the New York blues Hall Of Fame. Multi talented, she not only has solo CDs released of her songs but this is her 3rd book of poetry, "Light Sings Of Wear." just out today!
@Ludovicaa@Songfacts I wrote 90% of the Arrows songs we recorded about my live-in girlfriend and our rocky relationship. But I wrote "I Love Rock N Roll" as fiction, no real people as a reference. A Top Rank Ballroom sparked the song, my observing the crowd at an Arrows autograph signing there.
With great sorrow I found out that Goo Hara, the super talented, gorgeous K-Pop queen has passed away at 28. She did a fantastic version of my 1975 composition "I Love Rock N Roll" at the Tokyo Dome on New Year's Eve 2015 to thousands of fans. Forever in my heart. โค๏ธ #goohara
