That would be a terrible argument, so you will be relieved to discover that it is not the one I’m making.

The argument I’m actually making is that, while it would be best to be a part of a great denomination that I know would not harass my church through lawfare, such a thing does not currently exist.

And so for us, we must settle for the best option actually available to us.

Part of the work of righteous rule is knowing when you are not in the ideal circumstance, and not pretending like you are. Pretending like you live in the ideal world when you don’t actually live in that world can actually be one of the worst possible things to do as a leader of an organization.
