@PenguinsJesus@JoshYohe_PGH@pensfan8714 If they continue to make the playoffs, you're looking at getting picks in the 22 to 32 range...not exactly a great area during most draft years.
@crosbyhistory87 Why? You could just hand Robertson an offer sheet to match what Carlsson just got and give Dallas four first round picks in the 22-32 range. Much less costly that way.
@kelsey_surmacz4 After seeing what's going on, just offer sheet Robertson. Those four 1st round picks will be late first round. As long as Sid's playing, the Pens won't have a top ten pick.
And...it'll be less costly than trading for him.
@letangcult Just do the offer sheet. The four 1st round picks will, most likely be late in the round.
As long as Sid plays, it's not like the team will be bad enough to get a top 10 pick.
@QuinnVogt49Gold Honestly, it'd probably be cheaper to give Dallas four of the next five 1st round picks than to pay what they're asking for him in a trade. Those four picks will be late 1st round, most likely.
Personally, though, I'd rather offer sheet Bedard, even if it's just to screw Chicago
@beagleschmeagle I've spent the entire offseason saying that Bedard would be the only player worth that kind of offer sheet and the requisite compensation of four 1sts.
@kelsey_surmacz4 With the start of free agency, tomorrow, do you think that Pens give anyone an offer sheet? Giving up four 1sts rather than current assets seems more palatable.
Honestly, though, I'd rather go after Bedard than Robertson.
@HunterHodies He wasn't good with Letang, but, given a full camp, it might work. I kept suggesting that they do that on the power play, rather than Geno on the point, this season.
@DerekLeroux1@HunterHodies Insurance against Brunicke flopping again this year... For a part of last year, they had lefties (Shea and Solovyov) playing the right side.
@optimisticpengi@ThePensInsider Because yesterday, he said that he has no intention of making any more expensive mistakes, which is exactly what acquiring Reilly would be.
