Cassie sprawled on the ground, a ragged laugh dragging itself out of her chest as she wiped a streak of blood across her cheek. Wobbly boots finding their footing, she spat a mouthful of red onto Fisk's polished dress shoes.

Okay, in hindsight, trying to knock out a seven-foot mob boss just to get his attention was a terrible call. She probably should’ve just talked.

Cassie aggressively tapped the glass of a stolen iPhone, completely baffled by how people in this universe functioned on such fragile, low-grade tech.
Cassie paused, her smudged, dark eyes drifting over to the kid curled up on the edge of the bench beside her.
