5 facts about the Renters' Rights Act:

1. Landlords can’t evict tenants through no-fault evictions - they need a valid reason.

2. No bidding wars - landlords can’t ask for more than the advertised rent price.

3. Landlords can only ask for a maximum of one month’s rent upfront.

4. Landlords can’t just say no to pets - they must consider tenants’ requests and can’t unreasonably refuse.

5. Fixed-term tenancies are banned. Rolling tenancies give more flexibility.
