Problems with Katara's arc post Avatar: The Last Airbender, and why defenses for it falls short:🧵

Massive mainstream movie** and this character means a lot to me!!**

[Sylvana @TheBangDesigns]

Legit insane to see my girl Barriss Offee on screen again.

Seeing a Fijian actress in a massive movie mainstream movie portraying this amazing healer character I read about in the books had such a a big impact on me as a half Fijian 12 year old when Episode II released. 1/2

[Sylvana @TheBangDesigns]

I will never stop talking about her (and what they did to her character in the TV show). It was great to see her in a positive light again (would still love to see her skin tone be portrayed once again as the actress', as another BIPOC woman this character means a lot to) 2/2

[Sylvana @TheBangDesigns]

@Jbandos How are we not friends with our Barriss obsession lol

[Jaclyn, of liking Barriss fame @Jbandos]

If you told me ten years ago that the official Star Wars account would post a Barriss Offee fancam I would not have believed you even a little what the hell how is this real life

[Sylvana @TheBangDesigns]

@LogantheGM I created and run a county-wide inclusive community organization that helps people connect through playing TTRPGs in my community, but I wish it could be so, so much more.

Good morning to everyone who became a Dungeon Master because their friend group wanted to play but nobody else wanted to DM, and to them only (y’all are the unsung heroes)

the fact that David Tennant simply wearing the trans flag-colored TARDIS pin on national TV caused such an uptick in sales that the designer was able to donate $4000 within a couple days to charity and it crashed their website is wild??? his influence and reach omg

I turned on names in Google Earth to show the uninformed that it's not empty.

We Pacific Islanders ARE used to seeing this side of planet earth. The Pacific Ocean is our home.

We are here. We exist.

And damn does it look amazing.

[Birmit @Birmit_C]

hey, quick question
I have a few ideas for ad0pts, but not enough time for detailed arts of them
so I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I make them in such sketch style? 🤔

[manu lula da silva @katarakins]

it really bothers me how some people downplay katara’s strength comparing with the other girls in atla, just because she is a more girlie girl, because if you watch the series it’s clear she is the strongest bender, it’s clearly misogyny
