When you know you’re too tired to do just a bit more to a painting that was fresh and promising, remember to listen to that little voice! #watercolour#flowersandpots 🤦♀️
A gentle sketch to get back into it. Half term is here; time to reevaluate and recharge. I’m so lucky to enjoy my job so much but it can be all-encompassing. Happy Sunday everyone.
Just working on the last section of water and then I’ll go back and make some final tweaks! This piece has been a labour of love, I’ll definitely be feeling mixed emotions when it’s complete. Thank you so much for the feedback along the way! ❤️ Reference photo by Chris Godfrey.
Trying to teach a class and run a school whilst Covid rampages around me is like nothing on earth. It feels like it’s only a matter of time before it gets me again. I found a quiet moment this morning to paint the clump of Winter Aconite I found in the woods. Stay safe everyone.
'Sky Sailor', 36x26inch, oil. Original painting of an Buller's Albatross soaring over the ocean. Quite a large painting at 36x26 inches, plenty of space for a majestic Albatross to sail across. #birds#birdwatching#oilpainting

No plans for Valentines day? Why not come along to The Corn Hall for the screening of Royal Ballet's Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers experience passion and tragedy in this 20th-century ballet masterpiece brought to life by Sergey Prokofiev’s dramatic music.
I just want to say that teaching is never an easy job, but right now, amid this Omicron surge, it’s brutal! I’m fine, but have nothing else to give, so I’ll not be on here for a few days! Here are some spring flowers. See you all soon. 😀
I’ve been painting, reflecting, and posting for just over a year now. Twitter is my diary - recording the challenges and the successes, the ups, the downs and everywhere else in between. I’m a work in progress - self taught - loving learning from the people and nature around me
