Everybody wants to be THE GUY‼️
Media members coming from different industries, former coaches, player evaluators, studied journalists and even some jubilee singers didn't get their fame in those fields so here's their opportunity to live out their high school popularity again or to get the attention they never got.
They think it's more about their opinion than it is about the team that they cover. Without the team there is no opinion at all. They've lost the plot. Now of course they're employed to cover the team. Maybe that's what they should do but instead they want to make it about themselves. You're not scouts, you're not Jimmy Fallon, you're not Stephen A. Just write and report. It's ego. Your rate isn't big enough.
The irony of it all because I don't think that my reception on here has been good at times for being the only one who operates out of pure fiduciary duty to the Titans. Building up a logical and practical portfolio with documentation to back up moves that would've put this team in better position to win. Never intentionally disrespectful but firm and enterprising nonetheless. You would think that would have fanfare? Not that I'd care if in a position to really assist. One office. One laptop. 20 hour days. But no, of course there's friction. Logic doesn't matter. Proof of concept doesn't matter. Track record doesn't matter. Because why? Most people want to be THE GUY.
People claim they want the #Titans to be winners and win.
How do you ultimately effect winning? Decision making.
Who has created a net positive process and documentation for years that assists in decision making. Not an all knowing position but a damn good sounding board? Show me that guy.

1. SOME media and radio members have a comfortable loop. Bash the undersized slot guy when the 40 looks ugly. Collect the clicks. If he hits, collect the “who could have known” clicks on the way back. Nobody has to eat crow if the business model is the tongue in cheek diss then the lazy analysis about how unprecedented the success is. Restrepo is inconvenient for that loop because the production was never mysterious. Hands, first downs, and a quarterback’s trust are not vibes. They are film.
2. On this Titans roster the obstacle was not mystery. It was politics and aesthetics. Tyler Lockett was already in the building. A 5-foot-10 slot with a slow Pro Day time does not win a beauty contest in August. The small NFL sample still rhymed with Elic Ayomanor per target. That is the tell. When the ball actually found Restrepo, the return looked like a contributor, not a camp body. He would have been in the mix to lead the room if the decision had been skillset instead of optics.
3. The bandwagon/groupthink line writes itself: if he were any good, 32 teams would have drafted him, and somebody would have claimed him. That is familiarity dressed up as consensus. Cut-down week is a time crunch. Staffs keep the names they already practiced with. No GM wanted to be the guy who drafted the 4.8 WR. A large part of the audience still has not heard that he ran a 4.45 this summer and put the 4.8 chit chat to bed. Finito.
4. What he actually sells is hard to put in a spreadsheet. Zone awareness — routes versus space — is not a RAS score. It is knowing where the hole in the coverage will be a beat before the quarterback does. That is an X-factor. Extending drives is worth more to a young offense than another interior body on kickoff. First downs keep the defense off the field. That is the job.
5. I liked the ACTUAL sixth-round wideouts. Their allure is real. Past that, a lot of Day 3 is roulette: tools, returns, hope. Yes, an undersized slot-only receiver has a ceiling on league-wide value. That is not the only argument. The relevant argument is for THIS team. Tennessee needed a chain-mover who does not drop the ball and does not need the play redesigned around him. Restrepo was that player. Drafting him would not have been charity. It would have been reading the room. S/O #Titans for making the move.

Even I as someone whose kept documentation and accountability for years would claim such low hanging fruit. The galaxy mind play you're trying to claim with Darnold was actually my pivot from Tannehill in '23 by going with Baker Mayfield or Jacoby Brissett. It's likely they'd sign here. Darnold wasn't coming here dude.
I think Borgonzi has done above average so far. His ability to find positional/role value has been underrated.
