I was spending the summer at the coast with a group of friends. One of them was a big girl, the bubbly, earthy type.

We were all hanging out together one evening, talking. The subject of the male/female strength gap came up, and she mentioned she was stronger than her boyfriend (a 220+ lbs dude who wasn't with us at the time), and could beat him at armwrestling.

"No offense...", I said, "...you're a strong girl, but you know he let you win, right?"

"Nah, trust me, he didn't." She said, looking mildly insulted.

"Tell you what...", I said, "...why don't you try to armwrestle Paul?"

Paul [I changed his name because y'all would find the Croatian name weird] was the smallest guy in our group of friends. Short, thin, nerdy, he looked maybe 60% of her weight, and his arm a third of the size of hers, but he definitely had way too much pride to let a girl beat him at armwrestling in front of his friends.

"Aw, come ooooon!" She scoffed. "No offense, Paul, but that wouldn't be a fair matchup."

"I bet he'll beat you in under five seconds." I said, and that really fired her up.

"OOOOOK, if that's how you put it, bring it on, Paul!", she yelled, slamming her elbow on the table.

The bout lasted one second flat. Paul didn't even blink.

She sat there, mouth open, an utterly bewildered expression on her face, trying to process what had just happened.

The point I want to make with this story is that when girls are delusional about this stuff, their friends, boyfriends, and families do them no favors by humoring them. A woman that is unaware of just how wide the male/female strength gap is can unwittingly put herself into a very vulnerable position.

For 7 years, Winterfest has been Fortnite's fun festive event where you get to open free rewards at your convenience, and enjoy the christmas season in your favorite game. But for some random reason, they decided that the theme of Winterfest this year should be FOMO and instead, we're PUNISHED for not opening their game every single day during the holidays when most are traveling or out of town. To even gray out the present and tell us that it was put away is laughable.
