"OOOH THE PLAY OF THE YEAR IN THE NFL!" - Jim Nantz on the CBS Call for Josh Allen's TD vs the Chiefs.
After the XP, Nantz explained why he called it the play of the year. 🏈🎙️
Yeah, I feel ya. I just mean that if Keon takes a step (leap?) the. We have a legit WR1-2-3 plus Kincaid and Cook, rounded out by pass catching threats throughout the TE and RB core, thus rendering Allen’s pass catchers, potentially, “impressive.”
The book is so far from written on Keon. He never should have been a team’s top draft pick, let alone the top pick for a contender, let alone the Bills who were in need of a WR1. And he’s also young and lanky and not even fully-grown.
Sorry, I type long twitter posts. Go Bills.
For an outlook on the Buffalo Bills from an unapologetic, rose-colored-glasses-wearing homer, click into this 🧵
1. I pretend that Keon Coleman was selected in the 3rd round by a team that already had (an imaginary) bona fide #1 WR, Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid and James Cook. So now that Keon is 23, has grown into his frame, and is entering his 3rd season he represents potentially impressive pass-catching depth for the league’s best QB to throw to. 👇
4. The trajectory of a franchise is determined by the ceilings that its draft picks hit. Among recent defensive draft picks, Cole Bishop and Deone Walker look like major hits. If only a 285lb Landon Jackson, now playing in his more natural 4i alignment, proves to be another hit, the Buffalo Bills will have very quickly improved from a defense devoid of championship talent to one bursting with it. And there’s plenty of reason to be confident that Max Hairston and TJ Sanders can project as starting-caliber defensive players as well.
HM: I try not to put any faith in rookies producing well as, well, rookies, but I am more excited than many about the pro that TJ Parker projects to be (advanced hand usage suggests the ability to become advanced in other technical areas), and also excited about all of the 2026 defensive Draft Class and how they can be deployed as unique components of a mix-and-max, multiple defensive scheme.

2. The infusion of diverse talent in the secondary, projected to play in a more diverse scheme directed by Jim Leonhard, will be very difficult for opponents to scout. One could argue that no McDermott defense, even those top-5 defenses led by Lesley Frazier, ever put opposing offenses on their toes. Leonhard’s system with its wealth of athletes in its secondary can do just that: Keep offenses guessing. 👇
3. The defensive line has potential to be the most productive (vis TFL, pressure rate, sacks) we’ve see in Buffalo since the Cold Front. The potential of the DL to produce well is directly tethered to the diversity that exists in the secondary, but also breeds confidence in a vacuum. It seems we are best served thinking of this defensive structure as a 5-2, and so Rousseau, Chubb, Oliver and Walker represent four of those DL. That’s a damn good front. 👇
First, the loyal fans who supported the Knicks for decades when the team sucked (emptying thier wallets for tickets, shirts, jerseys) get priced out of the building when New York finally reaches the Finals (by insanely wealthy patrons willing/capable of casually blowing $20k on a pair of tickets to a basketball game, many of them having just hopped on the bandwagon or purchased tix to Game 3 solely b/c MSG is “the place to be” this week).
Then those same loyal, working-class fans get a second middle finger from ownership. Due to Dolan's desire to host Trump, thousands of diehard Knicks fans are denied the chance to gather outside the Garden, watch the game on a big screen, and share a once-in-a-lifetime moment with the community that helped keep this franchise alive when nobody else cared.
Access is reserved for the powerful, rich and/or connected, not the fans who stuck with this team through 20+ years of misery.
It doesn't matter who you voted for.
Banning the great vibes outside MSG before, during & after games, especially on a night the Knicks play their first NBA Finals Home Game in 27 years, objectively sucks.
National security is important, but this sucks
Hey, @TheJoeMarino, what does it mean to you that the Herd Mentality Discord is so unenthusiastic about TJ Parker? Does that sentiment speak more to Parker the prospect, scar tissue from top picks of the past, or genuine potential for Beane to have hit homers on Day 3?

James Dolan invited his friend Donald Trump to watch Game 3. In order to do that, they have to ban the organic, historically joyous parties happening outside MSG for fans who can't afford to be inside. Modern sports in a nutshell
New York Knicks fans are furious that Trump’s attendance is causing major disruptions ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
These are just some of the comments on a Knicks post informing fans that they will need to arrive at least two hours before the game because of his attendance.
The Knicks have cancelled all watch parties outside of MSG due to Donald Trump’s attendance for Game 3
Only ticket holders will be able to access areas around MSG, and have to go through Secret Service-level screening

I would not be surprised if the law of averages kicks in this year and renders some recent Brandon Beane draft picks not just contributors, but roster-changing NFL players.
🔴 Dalton Kincaid
🔵 Cole Bishop
🔵 Deone Walker
🔴 O’Cyrus Torrence
Year one will be a transition on defense, but they have made it clear that there will be more Odd Front looks/techniques.
I cut up some Deone Walker clips that I believe show how his skills/traits will help him play 0/1 technique in Leonhard's defense.
He can play anywhere across the line.
@pitz2399@FReichComeback@ElvisZerodx You mean for Garrett? It appears that wanted Verse and the Bills do not have a rookie contract player good enough to make a better offer.
The proper way for Bills fans to digest the Myles Garrett, AJ Brown, Jared Verse transactions: Teams go from good to great by hitting big on their big swings. It sounds obvious, but let’s remember our recent big swings 👇
Joe Brady
Jim Leonhard
Cole Bishop
DJ Moore
Max Hairston
Bradley Chubb
CJ Gardner-Johnson
