I was running behind time one night, so I called the shipper for me reload. And the man in shipping said “hey no problem as long as you are here by 10 we’ll get you loaded” I got there at 9:40 opened the shipping door and stepped into total darkness. First thought well this isn’t good. Then I saw a light on back in the corner away from the docks. Well maybe they are waiting for me back there, so I took a walk back there and of course nope nobody there. Well shit they are gone I missed my load. So in the darkness I start walking back to the door, when I hear a voice telling me to stop. And that’s when I see the 3 sheriffs deputies walking towards me. And of course they started to question me. Who are you, what are you doing here and on and on. Then another man walks in with more questions. This guy is the plant manager. I told him about the phone call and exactly what time I arrived. So what happened was the night crew decided they would bail out early They set the alarms locked the door and left. But in their hurry to leave no one checked to make sure the door was completely closed. So when I pushed on the door and opened it the silent alarms were set off. The plant manager was steaming mad. He gave me a ride to a local hotel paid for my room said I’ll be back at 8am to take you for breakfast and I guarantee you that crew will be there in the morning to load your truck. And they were.
