Have to be concerned with what the instructions were when it was obvious the ball was coming down to easily

The “weaker” mids did OK early, the longer it went on, the more under siege they got

Issue was strange positioning from McKay, not sure his strength is up the ground

Reid couldn’t go with Nate & was simply outpointed by 2MP

Farrow isnt a mid atm, the pace is at another level for him, once he gets that, his skillset should translate

I think most judge him on his intercepts, right now, that’d be a bonus, and IMO that’s been a reason as to why he’s been inconsistent/poor.

Need to get him back to just nullifying his man, and that’s it.

I only watched him in the champs but looks very proactive in attack mode (when his team have it), little less so in defensive mode, but he’s got time to improve that. Bit inconsistent with his disposal

@Twittter_Suks @ShowersPavilion You can’t have everyone down back with aggressive positioning and wanting to intercept. You become reliant on everyone being in the right spots and reading the play every time. Have one player get that wrong, and everything falls apart.

Need a balance of lockdowns alongside.

Faster transition will help, as well as changing angles and not staying too skinny, though yesterday wasn’t as bad, they did get central.

Don’t worry about positioning or intercepting. Just have touch on your matchup. Let him take you to the ball and stop him from getting it. We’ll worry about the rest, groundball, intercept, and rebound.

@ShowersPavilion A new coach will help by having a system that defends better so the ball comes down less & with more pressure on it (dirty ball), but he still needs to ‘stand up’ in contests. Not be slow to react & give his matchup free space. Have an arm across & be within touching distance.

It’s a bad trait in forwards.

Some of that imo is because he’s getting under the ball by not reading it properly, as well as his teammates not putting it in front enough.

He gets off balance too easily and if he can’t mark it, he’s no value on the groundball. Which should be his asset against key defenders.

@alan_fairbairn Yep. He would’ve had one job and one job only: play back shoulder and bring it down to the ground. Don’t worry about intercepting. Just follow him around with your hand between his shoulder blades. The flow-on effects in roles are the benefits.
