My brother, the stories have started coming in.
Thank you to the TMBB members who have already submitted their 400-word concept summaries after Saturday’s call.
It is encouraging to see men take the first step toward preserving lessons earned through faith, work, failure, fatherhood, leadership, pressure, and becoming.
This is how we tell our stories.
Not alone.
Not perfectly.
But together, with honesty, dignity, and purpose.
For the brother still thinking about it, begin with the summary.
The story will grow from there.

Brother, some visions do not grow loudly. They grow through consistency.
What Lawrence Githinji and the founding members began as a book breakfast has steadily grown into a community of men who read, reflect, sharpen one another, and carry better conversations into their homes, workplaces, churches, boardrooms, and communities.
In this video, Lawrence Githinji invites members of The Men’s Book Breakfast to take the next step in that journey by telling the stories only they can tell.
We are calling for simple 400-word essay concepts for the debut TMBB publication.
These do not have to be perfect or dramatic stories. They only need to be honest, useful, and drawn from lived experience.
Special appreciation to Zachary Kimari, the project lead, and the dedicated team of volunteers walking with members through this process.
To guide members through the process, the editorial team will host a webinar next Wednesday. Details will be shared here.

Brother, your story may become language, courage, or direction for another man.
𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥.
A man’s story is not only what happened to him: 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝, 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞.
At The Men’s Book Breakfast, we believe legacy is not only what a man leaves behind. It is also what he preserves, shares, and passes on.
There are lessons hidden in work, failure, sacrifice, fatherhood, leadership, faith, and becoming.
Tomorrow at 8:00 𝐚.𝐦. We will share the full details of a debut TMBB project, inviting members to reflect, write, and preserve the stories only they can tell.
And to begin, we will not ask for a finished story.
Just a simple 400-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲.
A starting point.
From there, the story can be shaped, supported, and grown.

Brothers, every man carries lessons that were earned through experience, sacrifice, failure, and growth. The question is: who benefits if those lessons remain untold?
At The Men's Book Breakfast, we believe our stories are not just memories; they are gifts to the generations that follow.
More details on this publication journey this Saturday at 8:00 𝐚.𝐦.

My brother, there are lessons life has entrusted you with.
Some were learned through pressure.
Some through failure.
Some through faith, fatherhood, work, silence, loss, leadership, and becoming.
The journey to becoming is rarely short, smooth, or straight. Yet somewhere along the way, life teaches a man things that should not be lost with time.
At The Men’s Book Breakfast, we are preparing a debut project that will invite TMBB members to reflect, write, and preserve the stories only they can tell.
Not perfect stories.
Not polished speeches.
Honest reflections that may one day guide another man.
For now, begin listening to your own story.
More details will be shared this Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Tell the story only you can tell.
Exclusively for TMBB members.
Brother, not every story needs to be loud to be useful.
Some stories simply need to be preserved well.
In the spirit of Madaraka, we are reminded that freedom is not only about a nation finding its voice. Sometimes, it is also about men finding the courage to remember, reflect, and give language to the journeys that shaped them.
At The Men’s Book Breakfast, we celebrate men who continue to read, dialogue, sharpen one another, and grow with intention.
We are beginning a quiet but meaningful journey, exclusively for TMBB members, rooted in memory, voice, brotherhood, and legacy.
More details will be shared this Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Tell the story only you can tell.
