@glen1macdonald Not a great article. The argument that it's okay when the party with the most votes doesn't receive the most seats is bizarre. Cherry-picking PR systems completely inappropriate for Canada is the norm. Majority rule only matters after the election.
Can we appreciate for a minute that at some point great people came together and created top tier free software that in the past would cost you thousands of dollars?
@Reviveempires@LexsWorld A few things - not all PR systems require you to vote for party-assigned candidates. PR doesn't necessarily mean larger parliaments. PR elections often have thresholds to prevent tiny parties from winning seats. Regions should have influence in proportion to their population.
We passed the €30,000 threshold on the Godot Development Fund today! 🎉

Our current goal is to reach 50k as soon as possible, to secure the current payroll, and enable us to add a couple more developers to the team.

Not only does our electoral system produce distorted outcomes, but it also breeds divisive governance and more importantly a disengaged apathetic citizenry. With 28% voter turnouts, our system has now become dangerous and way to easy to buy. #ProportionalRepresentation
@jonasschmedtman I wasn't sure how else to contact you - I noticed a bunch of your videos are being posted on this YouTube channel -> https://t.co/3XUhzpD4iq
Hate to say it but if 60% can vote against your party and you still win a majority then your democracy was already on shaky ground. https://t.co/IwfCzryQ5H

So the winning party won 72% of the seats with 41% of the vote, the official opposition came 4th in voteshare, and a party over 530,000 people voted for won no seats at all.
Can we just implement proportional representation already?
I have decided to join the @CanadianGreens & rank the @annackeenan/@ChadWalcott1 ticket 1st on my ballot, as I believe that they’d make great co-leaders!
I really love @annackeenan’s strong activism regarding the implementation of a proportional representation system.

"Not only would PR reduce the chances that one party would win a majority government when it receives a minority of total votes, but it would also promote “more collaboration and require parties working together,” @theJagmeetSingh said."
