We are a community research centre conducting projects in partnership with people with lived experience of poverty, homelessness, substance use & racialization.
What do we mean by community care by community members here at #TheBridge? The Bridge has always centered its projects in partnership with the people from the project’s target population- from conception, to publishing- we include community members in every step! #Community#Care

Having a blast at the OHRI Winter Bowling Party and snagged first place...although lifting the trophy felt like a workout, it was totally worth it for the win! 🏆
The Bridge Engagement Centre attended Operation Come Home breakfast at the Shaw Center on this Wednesday. It was inspiring to hear Ali's journey of becoming a firefighter (soon) from the Algonquin College and a panel discussion on downtown revitalization strategies.

This publication highlights the importance of encouraging blood donation in these systematically marginalized communities, as well as tackling multiple barriers to donation in this demographic -including racism, discrimination, and a lack of education&research. #SickleCellDisease
In 2021, researchers and collaborators from @sicklecellca, SCFA, @cu_research, @CUEdmonton, & @CanadasLifeline united to initiate an incredible project seeking to increase blood donation by African, Caribbean, and Black young adults. Read the article here: https://t.co/SIiO1F12bp
Funded by the SSHRC, the project's primary objectives involve identifying barriers to donation, evaluating effectiveness of SCD associations' and Canadian Blood Services' efforts to promote donation, and help develop strategies to reduce barriers.
