Welcome to the official Twitter of the Campus Lab School’s Preschool and Pre-K summer camp program. Miss Kimmie & Miss Kayla are excited to share summer fun!
Following morning meeting the campers drew their favorite summer camp activities! Miss Kayla and I would like to thank the parents and children for great summer! It was full of so much fun! We look forward to seeing you in two weeks! #summercamp#summerfun @TheCampusSchool
Today was the last day of summer camp! At morning meeting the children had to share their favorite part of camp. Recess and small groups seemed to be the favorites! #summercamp#morningmeeting#responsiveclassroom @TheCampusSchool
At small groups, the children painted with makeup sponges, made tie-dye out of wipes and markers, and created salt watercolor paintings! #summercamp#summerfun#summer @TheCampusSchool
Today at morning meeting the children shared if they liked cherry 🍒 or raspberry ICEES the best. It was almost a tie with 6 children picking cherry and 5 picking raspberry. Also, 3 children shared that they love to mix the flavors! #summercamp#morningmeeting @TheCampusSchool
At small groups the campers made pet rocks, painted with sand paint and made pom-pom splash paintings. #summercamp#summerfun#processart @TheCampusSchool
At morning meet the children had to share if they liked going to the beach or camping better. Twelve friends picked the beach and only two said camping. #summercamp#summerfun#summer#morningmeeting @TheCampusSchool
I apologize as yesterday’s camp activities Tweet didn’t send (8/5): The campers did process art activities. Process art is the abstract way of creating. The campers painted wrapped yarn resists, painted with tea bags, &played the drums with paint &craft sticks. @TheCampusSchool
The children also created more process art. In one small group they used bottle caps to make a nice design. In another group, they put globs of paint on paper and smashed it down with wax paper, creating a beautiful abstract design. #summercamp#processart @TheCampusSchool
At small groups the children made symmetrical butterflies. They painted a design on one side of the butterfly’s wing, then folder it in half to create the same symmetric pattern on the other side. #summercamp#summerfun#summer#butterfly @TheCampusSchool
Today at morning meeting we talked about SHARKS! Miss Kimmie is a big lover of sharks and, apparently, the campers are too! They all came up with a type of shark and said which was their favorite! #summercamp#sharks#summerfun#morningmeeting @TheCampusSchool
It’s hard to believe it is the last week of summer camp! Today we started a summer fun combined with process art theme. At morning meeting the children had to share their favorite ice cream flavors! YUM! #summercamp#summerfun#morningmeeting
To go along with the morning message question, the children designed carrots and their favorite color pumpkins at small group time. #summercamp#orange#colorweek @TheCampusSchool
The color of the day was ORANGE! At morning meeting, the campers had to share if they liked carrots, oranges or pumpkins best by writing their first initial on the board. #summercamp#colorweek#orange @TheCampusSchool
The children also mixed red and white paint in a ziplock to make pink, created a watermelon out of paper plates and squared construction paper, and colored a pink coloring sheet. #summercamp#pink#colorweek @TheCampusSchool
One of the pink things the children came up with was flamingos! Luckily we were doing painted handprint flamingos as a small group! #summercamp#pink#colorweek @TheCampusSchool
